This series has had my curiosity, but NOW it has my attention! A bop of an OP, a mysterious limbo, an arbiter who may or may not be an unreliable narrator, and a Saw-like game where winning or losing may make the difference between reincarnation and your soul "voiding" from existence!  

The art style, premise, and TENSION and psychological intrigue has me REALLY excited for this series!

!! This show is kind of nostalgic to me since this show was a big thing back when I first started to get into anime. (EVERY amv had to have clips of this show). SO hyped for this ride tho!! The op is a BANGER, this has great characters (by great, I mean hot but u know what I mean), and the story is interesting~~ As you probably already guessed by the first ep. In my opinion, this show has one of the BEST first episodes. It immediately gave us so much, with almost no answers. You will love this show. Can't wait for next week!! p.s. where's the death parade discord channel ?? :O

So, Decim is voiced by Maeno Tomoaki who voiced Hak in AkaYona. Takashi is voiced by Nakai Kazuya who voiced Shibusawa in Bsd. The girl at the end with the black hair is voiced by Seto Asami who voiced Higuchi in bsd and Nobara in Jujutsu kaisen. I'm so excited. It is just a great series. It's definitely fucked up. A lot of questions right from the start. The opening is a banger and I also love the ending a lot. I think that last part of Machiko was an act. How her mouth like gets tighter, how she holds her stomach. I think she acts at that point to make him feel better. It looks like she cheated but feels regret/remorsefull about it. It seems like she really does love Takashi. Wish you a wonderful day!

oh wow, it's been years since I've seen this show and i barely remember anything other than i liked it a lot so I'm excited to go through it again and watch your reactions/discussions!

So just going from this first episode rewatch I feel like it's not quite clear what the world mechanics are, the episode says it's heaven and hell first, but later brings up the void and reincarnation, those are very different mechanics. one's more of a western type cosmology the other it's more eastern, or are they all an option? I legit don't remember. Having said that I love the ambiguity of the result, was it a lie? a misunderstanding? was the outcome fair? Such and ambiguous feeling episode.

It did in the after credit scene, it's quick but I think it's notable, that the 'players' get told one thing, and the 'colleagues' are told another.

Yesss, this episode brings up the possibility that we will not find out ALL the information about what's going on in the moment and that maybeeee we have unreliable narration? I absolutely am head over heels already with this series and THESE VA's! No wonder I recognized Decim's VA -- it's HAK! OMG! Yessss, and NOBARA'S (and Higuchi's) VA's!? Fantastic!
