In what could have been a typical "filler" episode, this series goes all in on the animation, humor, and wholesomeness, as Anya gets to celebrate a mission "somewhat" completed for now!  

Between Franky's amazing "cool uncle" persona, Loid(man)'s struggle to not be embarrassed, and Yor's buzzed journey through the castle with the "family" and a troop of WISE's finest, this episode was hilarious and heartwarming!

The funny thing is that most of the "unlucky signs" can be interpreted as auspicious in China. The family photo falling in the last episode can be read both ways. The character for 'fall' is '落', the characters for failing the entrance exams are ‘落榜’. But 'falling' can also be seen as "settling down/becoming steady", meaning there's nothing to worry about. The bracelet breaking is probably the only sign that can't be interpreted as auspicious in China. "Breaking chains 关键时刻掉链子" mean "becoming unreliable when it most matters". Black cats 玄猫 are considered good omens that guard homes and ward off evil. Stepping on dog poop 狗屎运 is considered dumb luck. Because Franky was the first candidate for the mother role but got vetoed, people joke that he is Loid's supposedly deceased "ex-wife" that is also Anya's "biological" mother. Whether he was being the uncle or the second mom, Franky was absolutely brilliant in this episode taking care of Anya and bringing the whole family closer. I love the scene where Twilight put his belt back on in midair! So cool. And a nice detail is that he didn't retaliate even once when Yor was about to kill him. Here's a cool comment that I saw on Bilibili when Anya was "saved": The person who goes to rescue the princess might not be Prince Charming, it might also be her father, the King.

That's so interesting how what is considered good and bad luck can vary from culture to culture, so I'm glad you offered that perspective, here! :) That is HILARIOUS about Franky being the "original mother!" I love that! Also, YES, he is brilliant and I'm so happy his character has become a mainstay for the series and isn't just a flat side character! :) And I missed that detail that he put the belt back on! Bahahaha, that's hilarious!! And yes, he didn't try to fight Yor, which is a good on his character! Awwww, and the idea that the King, not Prince Charming, rescues her is ADORABLE! I love that!
