NOTE: I accidentally left the timer off of the reaction of the Audio Drama and didn't realize it until I was done editing. -__- I added a note on each video where the time "starts," so I hope that helps! Apologies, and I'll work to have it back for the last two weeks!

WOW, I thought Yao's end and the reveal with HuaiSang was good in The Untamed, but this was so good! More with HuaiSang, Ling crying (I listen to the extra "Gifting a Dog" and that was HEARTBREAKING), oh, and Qiren not being happy with WangXian PDA! I LOVE IT!

I was surprised with this set of chapters -- in what was left out of the donghua and The Untamed, but also in the cliffhanger of an ending we get! Next week cannot come soon enough!

Thank you for listening with me and for all the support!

This was a doozy of an episode so I certainly don't blame you for not taking notes during the audio drama. Loved your reaction and review of the novel. So strange to think your Mo Dao Zu Shi journey is almost at an end. Lan Wangji, Hacker of Limbs, I reckon sounds a fitting secondary title to Huanguang-Jun. The subtext of XiYao is definitely there in the book and audio drama. It's nowhere near as blatant as they do with The Untamed but it still there a little. Therapy for *all* the characters! So many of them have long festering trauma that has never properly been dealt with. WangXian being *that* domestic PDA couple I do love. We spent all this time with oblivious Wei Wuxian that it's just so wonderful and adorable the way they now are with one another. There are no more doubts or worries between them (at least in regards to their relationship), and now that both are onboard they're really going full steam ahead. That sigh of Lan Xichen I thought the exact same as you and could easily picture Liu Haikuan doing his 'give me strength' look. That change up in the music on the realisation about Nie Huaisang! I loved it. And the way it makes you feel dread/anxiety of what's to come. This piece might just be my favourite score for the background music in the audio drama. I'm with you that not getting that stereotypical villain monologue from Nie Huaisang is fantastic. There's that little slither of doubt that it is actually him behind it all. I also love that there is no evidence to definitively say that Nie Huaisang was the mastermind behind it all. It really shows how good an actor and plotter he is. The fact he managed to pull off so many things and prod everyone towards the ending he wanted without leaving behind any proof really shows that he is the better of the two. Jin Guangyao for all that he managed to hide what he'd done, he left behind enough evidence that was brought to light and used to bring him down. Jin Guangyao's voice actor really hit it out of the ballpark this episode. You can hear his heart breaking over this 'betrayal' by Lan Xichen. That death was vicious! And for Lan Xichen and Jin Ling having to see it. My heart!!! Wei Wuxian's comment about Lan Wangji's arm strength made me snort laugh so hard. Not the moment to really be focusing on *that* Wei Wuxian. You gotta love our gremlin but he really doesn't understand the meaning of 'time and place'! I love that Wei Wuxian is confronting Nie Huaisang in this moment. With the donghua and The Untamed I always had an issue with only Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji seeming to know the truth about Nie Huaisang and what all he's done. The part about Nie Huaisang not recognising Mo Xuanyu when they first met after the Ritual that brought back Wei Wuxian I do love. Because with the knowledge that Nie Huaisang was behind it all, we the audience know that in this moment he knew the person before him was Wei Wuxian and not Mo Xuanyu. Lan Xichen: *dead voice* I'm fine. Oooh yeah, sure Zewu-Jun I believe that completely(!) Lan Qiren really calling WangXian out on being shameless makes me laugh so hard. Poor man could end up with a future Qi deviation with how those two are. Juniors reuniting with WangXian is just too dang sweet. I love Fairy! Such a smart doggy. The moment between Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian though!!! That was so good. Just a few words but by their tone you can tell they've started to move passed the past. Their reconciliation has started; they've each taken the first steps. Leaves us with hope for their future. Jiang Cheng give that nephew of yours a massive hug! Poor baby Jin Ling. No matter what Jin Guangyao did, he's still his uncle. Jin Ling especially deserves a hug for dragging Jiang Cheng away to try and see and speak with Wei Wuxian, and standing up to his tsundere uncle. As to Sect Leader Yao and the others being so dismissive of Jin Ling and downright annoyances about his grief, it makes me think that Jin Ling and Lan Xichen are now going to go through something similar to Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji. Jiang Cheng I do believe still loved his brother even when he hated what his actions had wrought, and so for those thirteen years I do believe he grieved over Wei Wuxian's death as much as he could. But because of everyone's low opinion of the Yiling Laozu, such grief couldn't be publicly shown. The only righteous emotion in regards to Wei Wuxian, according to the Mob, would have been happiness at his death, and disgust over his actions. Lan Wangji, being uncaring about the Mob's opinions, clothed himself in white robes and wandered where the chaos was. He grieved Wei Wuxian's death and regretted his own actions and inaction. All the while the general Cultivation World would have cried out that such feelings were wrong. Just as they're doing now in regards to Jin Guangyao's death. Yet more mirroring of Wei Wuxian and Jin Guangyao. That was the most evil way to cut that scene! Two moments we thought we'd get the Lan Sizhui/A-Yuan reveal but it's not until the next and last episode! Meanies!!! Gifting a Dog extra...that was just way too much pain. Makes me want to just give him the biggest hug ever. Poor baby getting bullied and the bullies stealing his father's sword. And how sweet and caring Jin Guangyao is with him?! Definitely not what you need after he's just died. Cannot wait for next week! Crazy to think it's the final episode of the audio drama. Also, yay I get to cry again over The Untamed character songs next week too!

Yesss, what an episode! And thank you so much! It DOES feel weird to nearly be at the end of MDZS, even after so long with it! Wangji is if anything, consistent with his hacking of limbs! I agree, The Untamed really lets the XiYao overflow, but I do like how it’s all still THERE in the source material! And YES, Xichen’s sigh is the audio equivalent of “Give me Strength.” At the end, it’s so sad to see him so broken. Seriously, though, these characters ALL need therapy. At least WangXian is thriving and I just love how domestic they are already. <3 And yeah, WuXian does not understand “timing” always, haha! HuaiSang’s reveal and Yao’s VA – SO good in this episode! His lines with Xichen were just straight up heartbreak, I agree! And OOF, Xichen and Ling seeing Yao’s death (or Xichen not actually seeing it in the novel) was GRUESOME! And WuXian confronting HuaiSang was so refreshing! It alllll comes together! All the reunions, though! Qiren not being impressed, Cheng starting that reconciliation, Ling and heng’s moments – I felt so badly for Ling in all this! T_T It’s crazy to see the connections between Yao, Cheng, and Wangji and how it all ties to Ling – I can only think of that meme video about Ling and his “uncles” and I laugh, but it’s almost bittersweet. But also, HOW DARE THEY stop the episode there! @_@ So cruel! The Gifting a Dog extra was SO MUCH sadder than I could have ever expected it to be! I thought it would be a cutesy extra, but nooooooo, no such luck. T_T But thank you! I’m SO excited for next week, but it’s crazy that we’re already here at the end! @_@ It’s been SUCH a journey! Thanks for the comment!

As Dazai once wisely said to Atsushi, it's perfectly normal to cry when your father dies. And while Yao was not that close to A-Ling and obviously conflicted in his feelings towards him... it's okay to cry, Jin Ling. At least until Xichen can cry for him again.

Awwww, that's such a sweet sentiment and SO TRUE (I miss BSD)! Ugh...yeah, Ling and Xichen need a GOOD LONG CRY after the events of these chapters...thank you for the comment! :D
