Our boys could NOT be more precious in this episode, as Miyano struggles to find a way to "respond" to Sasaki's love declaration and it's already been almost a YEAR since they first met! Time flies when you're gushing over BL, apparently! 

I love how this series has our characters asking questions about sexuality and attraction, how love is defined alongside relationships, and exploring the different "dynamics" in said relationships. And doing so in a very fluffy, adorable fashion! I'm here for it.

The sucker is a perfect "casual but meaningful, kouhai to senpai" sort of birthday gift. Not too expensive but also not...free giveaway at the supermarket, lol. Look at Ogasawara, showing off his delinquent uke hotness! LOL! Sasaki's passing his tests - he's going to get brain fever! Kurosawa is a total simp for his girlfriend. Interested to connect him to Shizusumi from Given - they are both completely invested/devoted to their loves, but I think Kurosawa's brain would implode at the idea of having crazy sex with her - ooh, nope. They're the same age as the Given boys but...yeah, no. Lol, I can see Sasaki thinking, "I can't look at Miyano's face right now or I'll lose control. Cover his eyes and hold him at arm's length!" And then still being all, "I touched him!" is so sweet but yeah - whipped! I think it was clear at the beginning that Sasaki was shocked/confused by his attraction to Miyano. Sasaki, I think, just doesn't care what his sexuality is - pan, bi or something else doesn't matter because he's all about Miyano. He's Miyano-sexual, lol. It's definitely a BL trope - the love that has nothing to do with gender (Korean and Chinese stories have it too), where one or both of the partners considered themselves straight until they met their true love. It's like they have societal conditioning to the point where a same-sex partner was not even a possibility until something shocked them into seeing the person in a new light, opening their heart to love that transcends the physical. That also means they can now find the beauty in their partner where they didn't see it before (and not lose all interest when confronted with a...ahem...hard-on that isn't their own). In real life, it's probably more of an issue - loving someone and having sex with them are different things when you've never looked at or tried to imagine or been aroused by certain body parts that are suddenly naked in your bed or whatever. But there is an aspect of loving someone and wanting to make them feel good and being aroused by their arousal...so it just takes more steps and time than we generally are going to see in a manga..

I love your comment! Oga is probably one of my favorites in this; what a hot mess, but I love him -- and ahhh, that's an interesting point about Kurosawa not having sex with his girlfriend (unlike Shizu) -- yeah -- I suppose Kurosawa's simping is much more....innocent. :) His girlfriend is probably not into the same BL as Oga's, poor guy! :P And Sasaki is SO WHPPED by our oblivious (somewhat) boy, Miyano! It's precious!! That's a great point to bring up; that Sasaki and Miyano each didn't realize the attraction towards each other at first -- Sasaki's just gone head first into it all and Miyano is taking his time to rationalize it. And I like that note about societal conditioning to the point where they hadn't considered it. I liked your explanation here -- it's definitely going to be fun to see how these two sort out their feelings and (hopefully) get that mutual confession between the two of them (I refuse to think this will have an angsty season ending *fingers crossed*). :) Thanks for the comment!!! :D
