**Headphone Warning**

Oh, oh friends -- we are HERE already! Holy smokes! Sasaki has CONFESSED that he loves Miyano...the ball's in his court, now! Luckily, Sasaki is in no rush for a reply, so now Miyano just needs to figure out how he feels about all of this!

We get those shenanigans, plus some good ol' BL phone tag, as Hirano plays Ultimate Wingman for our boy, Sasaki, while also questioning that Sasaki is serious...our blonde senpai doesn't want to see his protege's heart broken...as do any of us! Luckily, Sasaki seems pretty serious. Now...what's Miyano to do?

The truck

idk, I had something to comment about the show, but I forgot what,,, hmmm.... (≖_≖ ) Well whatever, some another topic that came to my mind instead. In your discussion, you were thinking of uke's that cant cook, and you a hard time thinking of too many of them, but just warning you!! when you start finding uke's that cant cook... It's not that they can't *cook* it's just that they're unable to touch edible things without making them inedible. I feel like this is an appropriate warning *especially* since you're reading damnei-novels now.

WuXian Suibian

Someone made the comment that all the floating shapes reminded them of floating pheromones from an Omegaverse manga. Yeah kinda. Yeah, its hard to hear Uchida's voice but it is there on certain words, phrases. We get more of him in the later episodes. Not sure how far we will get in the manga, but we get to know him much better later on in the story and I like his perspective on things.

Ahh, the confession! Sasaki is the most perfect boyfriend material ever. And if you compare this with their previous "joking" conversations where Sasaki teases about BL stuff...Miyano before now instantly shut that down with a firm, "No," every time. But this time, he's flustered, he's hesitating, he ends with promising to consider this carefully. He has definitely changed already - he just hasn't realized it yet. They often drop little BL tidbits subtly and then bring them back later in the episode. Miyano and Sasaki's "moe" talk is about a character getting a kiss while wearing a face mask - then here we find Miyano wearing a mask and Sasaki wondering if he could get away with a little moe cliche of stealing a kiss through his mask. Since this story insists on Sasaki being the most consent-needing, responsible-despite-lovesickness teenaged character ever...he doesn't do it, only thinks about it and has to be content with a tiny little secret caress. Miyano is...frustrating for a romance story but completely believable and sympathetic as he gets so stuck in his head and overthinks everything to the point of going in circles and making himself sick. We can only cheer him on to the inevitable conclusion - yes, you and this guy were made for each other and you love him madly. But really, we all want to just screech at him until they kiss already, damn it! Hirano and all the side characters are really wonderful friends to our idiots in love. Hirano is MVP in this episode but the others get their chances as well. Amazing you could hear Ash's voice in the Chairman - he barely has any lines, lol. There was only one translation difference I took note of - when Sasaki is talking to Hirano they translated it as, "I confessed my feelings" where the SeptScans said, "I told him I'm in love with him." Very small difference but I like the "confession" idea because it has a significance in Japan that is slightly different. "Kokuhaku" is a Japanese-specific tradition and it implies serious dating with a future, rather than a casual, "let's date," or even, "I love you." It's like a declaration of intentions and the receiver is expected to reply with equal seriousness (even if it's just..."Who are you? No thanks.") We see it in anime all the time and that's why it's kind of important that Sasaki did it formally even after his little subway whisper. So Miyano was right to doubt the first one - that wasn't a true kokuhaku but the second one definitely is. Just a little something I took note of but not a big deal at all. It still comes across the same. Ah, I'm totally the opposite about sleep kisses. I think they're very sweet and shy and tender and romantic, full of longing and hope. Not like, jam your tongue in and grope the sleeping person, but a little stolen peck is just cute to me. And of course, we're talking about a romance story, not some creepy stalker grossly taking advantage of a drunk/passed out person.

ah i love hirano's character so much and how supportive he is for his friends. and it's great that we have his spin off series bc we get a lot more focus on him and get to know more about him :) funny how you mention that some of the scenes in this episode feel very manga-esque because the panel with sasaki's sudden confession was one of the most memorable panels in the manga for me and i'm glad they did it (and the scene in general) so much justice in the anime.

hahaha, and you knooooowwwww, if WuXian in MDZS is an uke, and he cooks that ridiculously spicy congree no one wants to eat, then....I think y'all are onto something! :P Thanks for the comment!

Ahhhh, you know, I could see that with the shapes! Interesting! I'm excited we'll get more of Uchida's character, potentially, and that he has more going on in the manga that will hopefully be adapted! :) Thanks for the comment on here!

Yes! Hirano being supportive is SO sweet! It makes sense he gets his own spinoff and I hope they animate that as well! :) I'd love to see or read it! And YES! I can just imagine how that looked! I'll be excited to check out panels of the manga from this season to see how they translated! I'm glad you all believe the anime did it justice; the scene was so well done! :) Thanks for the comment!

Sasaki and Hak from Yona of the Dawn would combine to be the PERFECT boyfriend, just saying. I love that Miyano, without maybe even realizing it, is starting to question things. That’s a really funny comparison! Sasaki is literally the most consent-needing character ever, almost to the point where he seems “too good to be true” or feels like a “character” (when in reality, he’s just awesome), and Miyano is far from the storybook “character” in how he realistically is handling his emotions. That’s a neat thing to point out! :) That is a fair point to make about this story not being the same under other circumstances with the “sleep kiss” — Thank goodness this is a sweeter show that could probably get away with that! :) And thank you for the translation note with the “confession” - that adds a lot more weight to the moment and why Miyano is seriously considering this. Thanks for that and the comment! :)
