**HEADPHONE WARNING!**

Show....Isayama...Act II is supposed to END with our characters at their lowest points...not START with them there!

My anxiety is through the roof with how dire and critical the Survey Corps and the mission are already -- things are not looking good for anyone, as Armin struggles to come up with a counterattack the the Levi Squad's grim situation and Levi and Erwin make a suicidal charge at the Beast Titan. **nervous chuckle** Things can't get any worse...right?

And so we begin the first 'imdb trilogy' of the series...good luck Romania! Also Floch (redhead kid) VA sounds familiar to you because it's Akutagawa, Raichi from AOD, Tadashi from sk8 and giorno from jojo. I love that you can almost see the weight lift from Ewin when Levi makes the decision. He's been carrying the burden of everyone's lives and the guilt of using them for so-called selfish ends but for once he didn't have to make that pivotal decision and the chips can fall where they may

The Weird Pianist

Starting from Episode 22 it's better if you only read the top comments on YouTube. And don't forget the post-credits scene of Episode 19 (you should take a break after watching Episode 18). Episode 22 has a post-credits and mid-credits scenes too similar to the ending of Season 1.

You don't like the beast titan because he's cocky? What are these flashbacks I'm getting? something about a cocky redhead and something about Ishiyama making a character's first impression be something that one would except the least? lol, just thought that was a nice coincidence since there was less than 30min since you said that. also, idk if the beast titan was being cocky; to me, he sounded like he was just stating facts, because... they're facts, the soldiers are committing a suicide move. or well idk, my mind is still in his abs, can't think.

"Not dead yet" is a very much the way this goes. Floch is kinda a dick, but his reactions are reasonable in this. I don't like him, but I get how he feels. He is in a life or death situation that leans further towards death. Time to add him to the list of characters that surely have PTSD. The rest of the list is just the whole cast. If you haven't been able to tell that Armin is my favourite from how much I talk about him, he's my favourite, and it's because he's easily the most relatable for me. While I've not been in a life or death situation where my brain power is needed to keep literally everyone alive in the ghost town of my former home that I've not seen in half a decade (because we do need to remember that that's what he's dealing with here), I was always the stratagist on my volleyball team, and being known as the smart one when you're in a stressful situation, and your mind goes blank... that's just a whole well of anxiety. And when a plan you had fails (like talking to Bertoldt did, in his eyes) all your ideas, even ones you'd normally be confident in, seem like they couldn't hold water. Jean being willing to take even some of that weight from Armin is a blessing to him. And I've been saying since the start, Armin and Jean almost make one whole Erwin. Now, my cats are yelling at me for having energy drinks at unreasonable hours, so I'm going to dance through the pain of what I know is coming, and probably watch the next two episodes myself, since it's been a few years. Remember, "not dead yet"

The 1st of the gut-wrenching trio of episodes has a massive impact as expected from AOT. “Give up on your dream and die” - that quote is one of the highlights of this episode. And the questions that everybody has had since S1 in terms of the role of the scouts within the walls and what is the point if they all venture out, face the titans and die? The difference this time is they had a grand send off - perhaps very appropriate for their last battle? And the red-haired guy with the name yet to be revealed - you may be onto something potentially 😀 but you’ll find out soon enough.

Erwin is good at giving inspiring speeches. When he prefaces this one by saying it’s a slew of lies from a con man that just needs to convince these kids to die… hits different. I think the line about it being meaningless no matter what dreams you had was honest Erwin. Then he pulls out the persona one last time. Levi asking him to die was heartbreaking. I never really shipped them before, but the rewatch with your commentary is starting to sell me on it. On a lighter note, thank you for solving the eaves dropping pun for me, cuz it went right over my head and it was bugging me lol. I could hear the pun in Japanese (‘the house’ is a play on Eren’s name), but I didn’t get the English and I was trying to look up Japanese words for eavesdropping and got confused. I’m actually quite impressed with the translators for coming up with that. Cony’s way of losing his mind in an overwhelming situation seems to be the more upbeat kind of hysteria. Fun times. 😵‍💫

Coincidentally just read the latest Tweet. I have to admit it made me irrationally happy :) Also, maybe now is the right time to quote S.2 Ep.10 Pre-Episode-Discussion-Romania: "I feel like i have the outside of the puzzle, the outer part is done, but something in the middle is missing...". Those were the days, haha. Really trying to be tight-lipped, because these episodes are a minefield for spoilers and also i am very opinionated, when it comes to S3, lol, but i am so excited to see you discover these great episodes, i just couldn't resist...

Always love the chaotic intros before going into the episodes lol so fun😂 The horror I was in when I saw Levi's face & the air sprayed into a bloody mist of his comrades from the impact my goodness I've never been so scared in AOT until this scene😭Omg & yes that guy did save Levi's life, crazy! The battle was already bad with Bertholdt, now he's kicking Eren on top of the wall causing havoc. Armin too panicked to come up with a plan which I totally understand. Thank goodness King Jean held it down but they are still relying on Armin. Ha ha then Reiner gets up. When I tell you I lost it😂😂😂I was like omg I feel like I'm losing it with them, just chaos after chaos. No breathing time whatsoever like let me breathe pls!😭 The scouts are getting massacred on the other side of the wall. At this point Conny is a whole mood lol & the red head. Props to Marlo tryna keep them calm. Idk if I could with Boulders being thrown at me every second. Erwin's speech is the best one of the show for me. No words. Him acknowledging his selfishness to Levi, Levi coming up with plans trying to desperately ensure Erwin is safe in all of them. Him deciding for Erwin to give up on his dream & die. I know that's gotta be hard for the both of them to come to terms with. This episode is pure torture. Everytime I rewatch this episode my heart feels heavy. That may be what they want us to feel to make it as if we are in it with them all. Such a masterful episode. Best part of the episode was Erwin's face as he sees Eren on top of the wall😂😂😂😂I didn't realize how expressive he was😂Yes Levi was animated beautifully in such a painful way. Beast Titan can go kick rocks, somewhere else of course, not my scouts😭

2021-12-15 23:03:46 Love the thumbnail btw, I always think about that shot of Levi when I think about this episode because it was the beginning of realizing the doom & dread we were gonna feel for the rest of the episode😭😂Isayama really said you wanted Season 3? Here you go!😂😗🎁

Jean is a good leader because he's not only smart but can make decision on a spot. He just isn't as good in thinking about big plans like Armin is. Armin is a better strategist but can't handle situations where he has to decide under pressure. I agree with you, he's better as a "support" man. So we come back to that they both are pretty good as a team since they have what the other one lacks. I can kinda see why people would be frustrated with Armin this episode since he always had a plan before and he does whine a lot. But he's still just a kid. I, as someone who just watched this, have no Idea what they could do either. "Why did I ever think I'd somehow be different." It reminds me so much of Keith. He thinking that he could change something but then getting reminded that he can't. Levi isn't wrong about Zeke but also isn't right. I wouldn't call him a coward either. The blood in the air gives all this an even darker feeling. Levi and his humor this episode. XD "Give up on your dreams and die" is such an iconic line. Both Erwin and Levi giving up on the thing they want the most. My heart broke at the end. Wish you a wonderful day!!

Oh thanks! There were a lot of options for this episode (most of them Levi or Erwin, haha), but I was surprised by this moment and loved this shot -- Isayama isn't playing around this season!

YES! That's why I love Armin and Jean as a duo -- they compliment each other so well! I really hope (all things considered) they're able to work as a duo more... *sweats* And yes, I can see where the complaints come from, but I'm not a complainer of Armin, here. It all makes sense with his character and seriously...the situation they're in! @_@ Seriously, my heart broke in the end with Erwin and Levi having to give up on the thing they hold most dear. :( UGH. We are in paintown, aren't we? And yeah, the blood in the air, the overall atmosphere...such dread! :( Despite that, though! I hope you have a wonderful day, too, and thank you for the kind words!!
