I top off a bottle of wine and sit down for the penultimate episode of Season 3, Part 1 -- nothing wrong with that, right?! This episode was BRILLIANT from start to finish; who knew I was clamoring for KEITH BACKSTORY?!  

Eren's character has grown on me all season, but this episode -- as we learn just how much he's inherited from BOTH his parents, and seeing him interact with Historia...our boy has grown up these last few months...and I couldn't be more thrilled. Now...the midseason finale is next, eh?!

It was a great post-episode discussion! But I only wanted to comment on my love of Eren x Historia in this episode. Queen Historia Reiss and the Hero of Trost Eren Jaegar. What a fitting pair. 😆 How dense can Eren and Marlo be? I’m looking forward to the finale of Part 1! 👍

Oi, don’t disrespect the cute red-head lol, he’s just excited for taking back Wall Maria. Anyway, I totally ship Eren x Historia, I mean I love Ymir x Historia too, but yeah. I really like how much Eren understands Historia now and vice versa. Just a reminder though, don’t watch the ed for episode 12!

Thank you so much! This and the next episodes have been two of my favorite post-episode discussions -- I attribute it to the episodes being so wonderful. But seriously, my love for Eren x Historia has blossomed so much these last few episodes! #AceandtheQueen is my ship for them! :P But yeah, poor Eren and Marlo are BEYOND dense, bless them. The finale...woo...I watched it last night. I...had a lot to say. *chuckles*

Hahahahaa, I'm sure my first impression of the cute red-head will be instantly shattered, as per Isayama tradition! :) I am completely on board the Eren x Historia train at this point. And yes, Eren and Historia have really come to understand each other this season. Thank you for the reminder! I watched the last episode last night, and luckily stopped myself and did not see the mid-credit scene, so we're all good! :)

2021-11-28 20:32:32 That speech from Eren's mom I always go back to. It's just so beautiful. Sometimes the answer is just that simple & I love that because we always strive to be SOMEONE & seek validation from others when in reality there's nothing wrong with being ourselves, there's always room for growth too but yea I love that his mom just said he's already special because he was born into the world😭😭😭😭😭Simple but impactful especially with how he's been feeling recently. Keith backstory & Grisha omg I forgot we were getting to this episode & wow your gonna love rewatching this show. The tie in's are so great but when you know more & more, it'll definitely be an experience. Poor Keith, mad respect for him because we can all feel what he's feeling in feeling unworthy at some point in our lives & for him to sit in that for years it's so sad. I love his character so much. Grisha my guy he is surely a mystery but I love that they do give you just a little to sit with. Can't wait for the finale & recap🙌🏽Hope your doing well.

SERIOUSLY! Carla's speech is so darn beautiful and inspiring! I'm SO GLAD that Eren got to hear those words from Keith -- he looks so great at the end of this episode! The message in this episode about Keith and his feeling of worthlessness but knowing how much he's done for the plot? Brilliant. Grisha...what a mysterious man, but I love that we got so much more on his character! :) The finale...wooooo! I'm excited and excited for the recap, too! And that was the second of Isayama's self-contained favorite chapters. Told you it would be soon. :) And what a story it is... Poor Shadis (amazing call on that btw, recognizing him from that memory is quite something). Always trying to change the world, and always failing. Him trying to save Eren from becoming a soldier (in accordance with Carla's wishes for him) only to end up, once again, as a mere bystander... His line at the end of Episode 3 hits quite differently now. Oh, and Eren has been trying to use Historia to tap into more memories. I think it's just a different translation and not different text, but Jean's line in the manga makes this clear - Eren and Historia are holding hands hoping that it might trigger more memories, the way it did in the Reiss family cave. Not commenting on whether there may be added benefits to this...

SERIOUSLY, these two back to back were AMAZING! @.@ What a story...his eyes always give him away in this series, but I'm amazed at WHAT ALL we got with him in this episode! Yeah, Episode 3 from Season 1 hits SO DIFFERENTLY now, I'm so impressed with Isayama's writing, here. Oooohhhhh....that's interesting about Eren and Historia -- I'm excited to get into the manga with them eventually, but I'm looking forward to hopefully getting more into that aspect as well...thank you for not spoiling me, hahaha! **no comment** I'm reaaaaaally excited for Part 2 of Season 3! :)

The guy with the curly hair is voiced by Ono Kensho who voiced Akutagawa in Bungou stray dogs and Tadashi in Sk8. I forgot how amazing this episode is. Who would have thought that we would get Keith's backstory?! If Hannes wasn't there Grisha would be dead and Eren wouldn't even been born so thanks I guess? XD I find it so intriguing that because of the choices of the smallest characters all of that even happend. Hannes having a wife makes me so sad. I love the Snape comparison. It's really good. "Are you gonna curse someone else now?" It gives me chills. If Keith knew how true that was. Wish you a wonderful day!!

Oooohhh, that's good to know! I remember someone mentioning that Akutagawa's VA made it into AOT -- nice to know he's here! ;) This episode is SO DARN GOOD. I love that we got Keith backstory! It was the story I didn't know I needed. And SERIOUSLY, Hannes is definitely responsible for Eren's existence. It's so bittersweet, especially that he had a wife (did he still have a wife at the present time? Hm. If he did...even more sadness). T-T And YES, that line about Grisha "cursing" Eren....woof. Chills ALL AROUND! Seriously...if only he'd known....thank you so much for the kind words and have a great day, too! :D
