**HEADPHONE WARNING: Y'all know me...**

WHAT a season finale! SO many questions still (definitely new ones) unanswered, but some plot threads tied up, while our characters sadly, though we should have seen it coming, are all seemingly being pulled away from one another at the seams...

All I can say is, I hope you enjoy the reaction and my ridiculously long ramble on this season -- because I am SO HYPED for the OVA's and Season 2, now!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

End credit scene...weren't expecting that were you? FYI, the narrator is Armin.

romaniablack

NOPE -- I was NOT expecting Titans in the literal walls! @_@ So. Many. Questions. Also, thank you! I think the female-sounding-male voice made me think Hange, but that's ALL THE MORE COOL that it's Armin! Hmmm...having just watched Episode 1 of season two, I thought it was Hange narrating as well...I may need to correct that in the future, if it's also Armin narrating, haha!

Honestly, when i saw the Titan in the wall thing, i thought it was metaphorical, like humanity made a little crack but what awaits is just more danger. This episode has so much in it. But i guess talking about specific parts is better suited for the recap video, or at least the respective OVAs. The beginning is comedy gold though imo, it's dark, but i simply can't help the laughing. Wall Cult... Splat !

romaniablack

Ahhh, I could see that having been metaphorical, especially with a 4 year break between seasons 1 and 2, right? And sooo much in this episode! talked for nearly an hour about it here, a bit more in the recap, and I still feel like I'm forgetting things that I think up later! Like thematic-wise, the idea of hindsight and how things looked at the start of the season (like Eren's view of the Survey Corps) to now, now that he's in it...things like that! I'm sure you all will comment what I forget to talk about, or I hope so, anyway, haha! And I particularly like dark humor, so I may have laughed too hard when Annie sat on the church group...this show's sense of humor...it's perfect for the tone and content of the show as a whole, and never feels out of place, which I like! SPLAT, indeed!

As always I can't wait to get home and watch. I just watched another reaction to this episode the other day and I have to bring it up, the scene where you see everyone dying and the young girl walking through the war torn path and all the while Erwin saying he believes this is the best for humanity is very eerie, I can't help but feel sympathy for Nile as he pretty much represents a good hearted individual who is ignorant to what is going on around him, but maybe society is to blame for that. Overall one of my favorite scenes in all of S1.

romaniablack

Ooooh, that scene where the girl crying through the streets is parallel with Erwin's words?! CHILLING. That whole scene is just wrapped with symbolism...it's so powerful! I hadn't thought about Nile in all this -- he got a bad impression from me when we're introduced to him, but yeah, his biggest sin is that he's just ignorant of his surroundings...I'm sure the society he's in has done a good bit of molding in that regard. That's a really good moment to bring up! Thanks!! I hope you enjoy the reaction!

It really goes to show how true Armin's words are, Erwin shows once again that he is willing to throw away his humanity to overcome the titans, not many people can do that and therefore it's convenient to judge these people as bad when something goes wrong, the world truly needs people like him to make tough decisions. The Eren titan fire scene is actually not canon, he was not on fire in the manga, but i think it's nice symbolism for Eren's rage, I feel he will always be the angry kid from the first episode but he has every right to be at this point. Thanks for the great reaction once again and sorry for the lack of paragraphs (mobile Patreon doesn't let me).

Yesss, Erwin's decisions can come across as more extreme compared to other leaders like Pyxis, but Erwin has to make tough decisions and I don't envy him at all (he needs a hug, darn it!) -- that's so cool about the fire, even if it is an anime-only element. And yeah, Eren's rage is justified at this point, for sure. Thanks for the kind words and comment! I'm soooo ready for Season Two!

I feel like there is so much I want to say but I don't really know what to say. XD When Erwin says it's for humanity and it shows us this really disturbing image it's just so powerful. Erwin is such a badass. In my head I was like "Jean's looking really good right now." A second later you said something similar. Good to see I'm not the only one who thought that. XD Of course Armin and Jean are here with their deep talk again. And I'm all in for it. The last time I've watched it I wasn't really paying much attention to them but I love their relationship a lot. It's so interesting to just hear them talk. Wish you a wonderful day!!

romaniablack

Hahaha, I hate that I can't talk about everything in full because of spoilers, but I guess as things get revealed later on, we can talk more and more about it all! :) Erwin IS a straight up badass; there are decisions that I'm grappling with that he's made (I'll talk about them more in the OVA's), but you can't deny he CARES for humanity in his own way. But yeah, his words next to that girl walking the streets covered in blood? CHILLING. And yessssss, others noticed Jean looking his best in this episode! Hahaha! And I am ALL here for Jean and Armin conversations -- they're some of my favorite moments in the show so far! :) I just want to follow them around as they have philosophical discussions. Thank you for the kind words and have a great day, too!
