The amazing WangXian antics from Episode 4 carry over into this one, and oh my gosh -- I'm not sure the Lan Clan is ready for WuXian as its new member! Censors be DAMNED!

But also, we get answers to questions and new questions raised -- my suspicions of Yao and Su She are back in full force, but you're telling me there's now a wife involved...and dead children?! Show...show...I'm not sure where we're headed with this...but we have all the clans gathered and looking for the Yiling Patriarch...who is right there among them. 

Nothing could go wrong with this set up...right?

I will NEVER get over and not laugh at XiChen's face when he sees both his brother without his forehead ribbon and then WuXian (in Mo Xuanyu's body) gnawing at it knotted around his wrists...just...*throws hands* And you were SO right -- drunk Wangji is best Wangji! It's LOVE DAMMIT! ^^

Oh, believe me, you can ship Xichen and Yao, even though he might be a villain. Lots of people do, because of the potential this pair holds. You’ll see all of it in the final episodes. Prepare for the emotional breakdown..

The headband scene said it all XD Showing off your best catch, good for you, Hanguang-jun! The manhua explicitly ADDED some bits of the lore, no doubt influenced by tons on fanfiction... Sizhui, the best boi. Always the most considerate. Also, the rules (probably) don't forbid drinking outside of Cloud Recesses... like, you're old enough to night-hunt on your own, you are formed as cultivators already, do it or don't on your own terms. The thing I liked most about Xichen was his total silence concerning all the reveals he no doubt felt much about, except for the direct question targeted at Jin Guangyao. No questions for the state of headband, the drunken brother, the drunken disciples, Mingjue's death... WangXian don't even TRY to pretend in front of him and he still says nothing! Always watching and taking time to make his mind. Even if the man near his brother is the one who once tore apart the cultivation world, and, effectively, Wangji's life as well. The escalator platform is a genius addition. Welp, the stairs at Jinlintai ARE dangerous... Ah, all the novel lines incorporated at slightly different places. I love that game, finding and collecting them throughout the donghua. I loved Qin Su so much, she's so pretty. And Su She looking fine as hell in his clan robes. Of course Jiang Cheng won't give his brother away XD It's only him who can curse and fight and lash out at Wei Ying! Precious baby Jin Ling. All grown up and ready to stand for 'Mo Xuanyu' who had shown him kindness, even if a little. This uncle-nephew bonding scene is unprecedented as of yet. Phew, they didn't even leave out the part where Mo Xuanyu reportedly 'harassed' Jin Guangyao! Remember how it went in the 2nd episode, "no matter who it is, a woman, a man, a bull or smth else, if it's pretty he chases it!" Jin Ling definitely remembered that. I love how every reactor is so very surprised over Yao's marriage XD Like, if ANYONE is gay in this show... apart from Wangxian, that's him and Xichen, right, riight? Well, we're supposed to be surprised, looking at it with Wuxian's eyes, he had been out of the loop for long. I also think Jin Ling suspects, and has done so for some time, but... he probably doesn't want to believe. Or even think about it. He finally has someone to fool about, and fight, and banter with, and that thought may ruin it all. Observation towers are one of the things I genuinely admire Yao for. They were a great thought, helping society and keeping them in contact with cultivation world. His son was not killed in one of those btw, just BECAUSE of them as Wangji states. Still, yeah, it must be hard to continue doing that, but Yao is nothing but stubborn.

Hahahaha, Wangji "showing off his catch" is just hilarious to me -- I am SO ready to see this all go down in the novel, audio drama, and manhua! And Sizhui is LITERALLY best boi of the disciples! :) That's true...poor boys are light weights, though! :P Ahhh, and that's a really good point about XiChen! All this insanity around him and the only thing that gets under his skin is a comment about Yao...hmmm...it's been established these Lan boys are romantics at heart. I'm a little worried for XiChen, if I'm honest. But him third-wheeling on that moving staircase....hilarious! I'm SO intrigued about Qin Su and Su She's involvement here, and that's a good point about our tsundere sour grape! XD And baby Linnngggggg....I was living for the uncle-nephew bonding in this episode for sure! And YES! If there was a gay couple in the show besides WuXian and Wangji, I had it pitted for XiChen and Yao...hmmm....yeah, even WuXian is surprised at this revelation! It's not just me, haha! And yessss, I'm afraid that Ling doesn't want the truth to be out in the open, because it will ruin things with WuXian; and I feel WuXian is on the same wavelength...and I get confused on the purpose of the observation towers at points, so I'm glad you reminded in this comment -- but uhm....yeah, the addition of Yao having a son definitely makes things complicated....
