Toriko and Rin are dating, though only a few people know that which leads to a funny situation where a lot of people think Toriko is gay.

Toriko’s house is more like an Earthship. It produces a large amount of food for Toriko and Rin to eat.

Rin’s Gourmet Cells allow her to formulate or recreate any scent she’s studied how to concoct or has directly experienced. Her Gourmet Cell weapon is Wok.

Komatsu and Toriko meet as per Canon, and I begin to delve into the Gourmet Hunter job a bit more because Komatsu is a curious young man.

Lower the Power Creep. This isn't DBZ no matter how influential that series is! Explore more foods, even some I might make up!

Gourmet World is different, as are the Nitro. The Gourmet World is almost entirely unknown, only the strongest can freely explore it and bring back information, useful data, and foods.

The Nitro are just creatures that split into two sub-species long ago. Blue Nitro have Human-level intelligence and can create and invent just as easily as Human's do. They're also ridiculously fucking strong and live in the Gourmet World near exclusively. Red Nitro are about ape/monkey level intelligence and are incredibly good at combat and hunting. They can even mimic the skills and attacks of others after seeing them or experiencing them!

Not having Acacia's weird ass 'Magic Food' Full Course Menu means I can actually have Toriko hunt and sample more foods to add to his Full Course. Like a better Fish Course and Meat Course.

GOD is a 'Unique Existence' that spawns in the Gourmet World every 500 years or so. It is still the ultimate ingredient that ended the 100 Year World War.

Gourmet Hunters also take back materials from their kills. Bones, Fangs, Claws, Horns, Feathers, Shells, several of them are valuable and some are even made of precious metals or minerals like diamond. It’s a secondary income source for Gourmet Hunters and keeps with the Gourmet Ages’ sign of respect that ‘None of a Beast should go to waste’ philosophy.

Komatsu first meets Rin during the Rainbow Fruit Hunt. Rin is called in to help acquire the fruit, but a miscommunication leads to Johannes hiring Toriko too. Crystal Sugarcane - In the wild, Crystal Sugarcane can usually be found in the grasslands and plains surrounding the Diamond Peaks Mountain Range, mainly by the large river that runs down from the mountain range. Colloquially known as the Diamond River, its water is so clear and pure that it's the perfect source of nutrition for the sugarcane and surrounding grasses, alongside the crisp air and constant sunshine the plains get. Cultivation attempts have been made with moderate success, as Crystal Sugarcane requires very specific needs for air quality, soil quality, water purity, sunlight, etc. While it looks almost completely identical to common sugarcane as a plant, Crystal Sugarcane, when processed into sugar, looks and shines like gemstones in the light. Commonly used as sweeteners for teas and other beverages. Due to the numerous Insectoid Beasts that hover around the sugarcane when it is fully ripened, which makes harvesting it in the wild by normal means almost impossible, it has a Capture Level of 40.

Herb Deer – A deer that naturally grows wild herbs from its fur. The flavor of the herbs seeps into its meat over time, leading to an almost perfectly seasoned meat right away with just a little cooking. It’s a fragrant and rich meat and a favorite of venison lovers! It has a Capture Level of 33. Its battle power only covers up to Capture Level 15, however. The rest comes from its Elusiveness and ability to just sprint through a thick forest and disappear. A full grown Herb Deer stands 5m tall, is 6m to 7m in length, has antlers that can span up to 3m across, and weighs in at roughly 1 metric ton!
