Chapter 18 – Third Round Tournament

“Hey, everyone! Are you ready to rumble?” Mic called out over the speakers. The resounding roar was a clear answer. Everyone was ready for the third round to finally begin. “A lot has happened today, but now it has come to this! A serious battle where you can only depend on yourself! Here, you have no teammates or comrades! It's a fan favorite! The classic one-on-one tournament! Heroes have to be able to face what comes at them, whenever it comes at them! Skill, Knowledge, Experience, Perseverance, and sheer Determination, use them all to your advantage in this round!” Mic kept the excitement building as the crowd was practically rumbling now.

“Wait, wait, wait, I’m not finished yet!” Izuku was rapidly making new entries into his Quirk Analysis Notebook of all the people he’d met today and what he’d seen of their Quirks. The Sports Festival was a veritable buffet of new Quirks to take notes on and try to figure out! The Quirk Nerd was beyond happy with all the new info he was recording.

“Izukun, you and your notes,” Camie giggled at her boyfriend. Izuku still went red in the face whenever she called him that too. He was such a cinnamon roll!

“That’s Izuku for you!’ Ochako giggled behind her hand as Izuku wrote faster to try and finish his latest entry before the first match started.

“Let’s get started with the first match!” Mic called out to the stadium and the cheers of the crowd. “For match number one, we have the Ultimate Shield, a real Manly Dude, Kirishima Eijiro!”

“Thanks, Teach!” Kirishima grinned widely at the introduction. The red-haired teen waved to the crowd as he headed for the ring.

“His opponent will be the Explosive Teen with an attitude, Bakugo Katsuki!” Mic introduced as Bakugo walked towards the ring with a determined look on his face.

The two boys stood across from each other a few moments later. Both stared each other down as they squared up to begin their match. The tension began to fill the stadium as the first match was about to begin. The cheers of the crowd faded into a low rumble as they waited.

“Are both competitors ready?” Midnight questioned both students, looking between the two teens.

“Oh yeah!” Kirishima grinned as he activated his Hardening Quirk.

“Bring it on, shitty hair!” Bakugo growled as small explosions flashed in his palms.

“Begin!” Midnight cracked her whip and both boys launched themselves at each other.

Bakugo opened with a big right swing backed by the power of his Explosion Quirk. Kirishima used his hardened body and deflected the blow, before driving his fist into Bakugo’s stomach. The ash-blonde only took a glancing blow as he took a step backwards. He thrust his palm towards Kirishima’s face and let loose an even stronger blast. The redhead stumbled back slightly from the point blank shot.

“Got you!” Bakugo roared as he placed both palms towards Kirishima and let loose a large explosion.

“That all you got?” Kirishima grinned as he rushed through the smoke from the blast and socked Bakugo in the jaw with his hardened fist. Bakugo’s head whipped around and he almost lost his footing as his vision swam. “Unbreakable!” Kirishima had pushed his Quirk to its second level that Izuku had helped him to unlock. He’d practiced with it every day since then and was now going to show it to the world!

“Amazing!” Mic exclaimed loudly over the speakers. “Kirishima brushes off Bakugo’s blast like a summer breeze! Is that an advanced development of his Hardening Quirk?!” He knew about it, of course, all the teachers at U.A. did, but what kind of commentator and teacher would he be if he didn’t talk up his students?

“Fucking shitty hair!” Bakugo spat out blood as he tried to get his balance back. It turned out, getting hit in the face with a super solid material wasn’t good for you.

“Stay down, Bakugo!” Kirishima exclaimed as he socked the still reeling ash-blonde with another unbreakable fist, this time in the stomach. Bakugo hunched over from the blow, only to meet Kirishima’s unbreakable knee to the face. Blood splattered from Bakugo’s broken nose as he reeled back.

Bakugo lost his footing and hit the ring floor as black spots filled his vision and his head flared with pain. He raised both palms in Kirishima’s general direction and let loose the most powerful explosion he could! The titanic blast engulfed Kirishima and sent Bakugo rolling across the ring floor. The red-eyed teen hadn’t been in any kind of grounded position to let off such a blast and the recoil had launched him away from his previous position.

“Bet…you can’t…do that again.” Kirishima panted out as he stood bare-chested, hi uniform top complete destroyed, with his arms crossed in front of him. Two tracks of broken ring followed the Hardening Quirk user’s feet from where they’d been to nearly the edge of the ring. The blast had rocked him, but he’d stayed standing. His Unbreakable form had faded, leaving him in his basic transformed state. He was singed and his ears were ringing a bit, but he was still able to continue.

“Bakugo is out of bounds!” Midnight declared and a quick look from all the cameras showed the Explosion user’s entire right side was over the line near the edge of the ring. “Kirishima is the winner!”

“I did it.” Kirishima smiled to himself as he let his Quirk release and returned to his normal state. He walked over -a bit stiffly from tanking that massive blast- to check on Bakugo even as Midnight moved forward to do so as well.

“He lost consciousness.” Midnight confirmed as Kirishima looked at the downed Bakugo. “We’ll have the medic robots take him to Recovery Girl.” She hit a button on a small device in her hand and a stretcher wheeled in by two small robots was quickly at ringside. Bakugo was gently set in the stretcher with Kirishima’s help and the Explosion user was taken towards the Nurse Station inside the stadium.

“Kirishima has definitely progressed in his Unbreakable form.” Izuku wrote down what he’d witnessed of the match. “He can move more freely, though slower than normal, and he can maintain it for a significantly longer time.”

“I can’t believe Bakugo is already out!” Kaminari exclaimed from Class 1-A’s seating area.

“Kirishima has been working really hard though.” Sero spoke up.

“Bakugo is definitely going to be a pain about this later, isn’t he?” Jiro sighed as she twirled one of her jacks around her finger.

“Definitely.” The whole of Class 1-A replied in a flat tone.

“What a match!” Mic declared as Kirishima walked off the field. “It was a classic match of overwhelming offense versus an unyielding defense! Kirishima’s hard work with his Quirk clearly paid off in the end!” The crowd seemed to agree as a loud applause for the two boys filled the air.

“Bakugo made an error in unleashing his Quirk while he was on the ground and disoriented.” Aizawa commented on the end of the match. “He was already off-balance and he didn’t know the extent of Kirishima’s defensive capabilities. Throwing everything you have at an opponent should only be done if you’re in a state to survive your own actions.”

After a few minutes for Cementoss to fix the damage that Bakugo’s massive explosion had done to the ring, the next match was about to get underway. Excitement was high for this match as it included a recommended student!

“For the second match we have a recommended student into U.A. High’s Hero Course, the man that distorts the properties of whatever he touches, Honenuki Juzo!” Mic introduced the recommended student from Class 1-B. For his part, Juzo walked calmly across the field and into the ring.

“Go Juzo!” Monoma yelled loudly from Class 1-B’s seating area next to 1-A’s. “Show the world what Class 1-B can do!”

“Yeah, because that’s not any extra pressure or anything.” Juzo sighed as he shook his head at Monoma.

“His opponent is the Tape using Capture Specialist of Class 1-A, Sero Hanta!” Present Mic introduced as Sero walked towards the ring.

“That’s the goal anyway.” Sero smiled as he waved to the cheering crowd before stepping into the ring and facing down his opponent.

“Are you both ready?” Midnight looked between Sero and Juzo.

“Yes, ma’am.” Juzo replied as he took a basic stance.

“I’m ready to go.” Sero nodded to the teacher as she took his own stance, one that would let him practically quick-draw his Quirk.

“Alright, then you may begin!” Midnight declared as she cracked her whip to begin the match.

“Tape Net!” Sero lifted both arms and aimed his Quirk at Juzo in less than a second. From his modified elbows eight strands of tape emerged -four from each elbow- and quickly passed through each other to form a lattice of tape. It was an effective, instant capture move that Sero had been working on ever since Izuku had given him the idea.

“A super move?!” Present Mic hollered in excitement. “We haven’t even gotten to that class yet!” The crowd roared at getting to see a super move from a student in the First Year arena.

“Nope.” Juzo wasn’t dealing with that and the ring under him seemed to change color and deform. The recommended student dropped straight down into the ring itself as the tape net sailed through the air, missing its intended target.

“What the?!” Sero blinked at what his opponent had just done.

The ring continued to change and deform under Juzo’s Quirk as he swam through the almost mud-like substance he’d converted the ring into. Sero leapt away to avoid it and even fired off more of his tape at the swimming Juzo. The swimming teen had simply dived below the ‘surface’ of the ring to dodge even as more and more of the ring softened. Eventually Sero had only two options, a ring out or falling into the softened concrete.

“Whoa!” Sero’s foot sank into the ring as the softening reached his position. Struggling against it only got him further entrapped. Both feet up to his waist were soon stuck in the softened ring. Juzo rose out of the mud-like ring from behind Sero and dunked the other boy. Sero suddenly felt the ring re-solidify around him, completely trapping him in place with only his head above the ring floor. Juzo cancelled his Quirk on the rest of the ring and stepped out of the ring next to Sero.

“Sero, can you move at all?” Midnight questioned the normally smiling teen.

“No ma’am…” Sero sighed after several attempts to get out of the concrete.

“Sero is unable to continue! Honenuki is the winner!” Midnight announced as the stands erupted into applause for the match.

“Good match, dude.” Juzo softened the cement around Sero and helped the other teen out before removing the effects of his Quirk.

“You too,” Sero nodded as the two shook hands. “I couldn’t really do much when the whole ring was turned against me though.”

“Now that’s the sportsmanship we like to see after a good match!” Present Mic cheered, getting the crowd to roar again for the two boys.

“So Honenuki needs to be in physical contact with an object to utilize his Quirk,” Izuku was writing like mad in his notebook. “He has seemingly more mobility in it than others as well. He can also freely activate and deactivate his Quirk at will, thereby removing its effect over whatever he touched.”

“I’m glad Izukun is having so much fun.” Tsuyu smiled as she watched her fellow verdette take notes on the match that he’d just seen.

“Yes, he’s truly in his element.” Momo’s eyes were bright, just like the smile on her face as she watched Izuku write.

“It’s time for match three, everyone!” Present Mic’s voice blared across the stadium. “This time we have dark horse competitor! A student from Support Course Class 1-H, it’s Mei Hatsume!”

“Watch me and my amazing babies at work all of you Support Companies!” Mei smiled widely as she walked towards the ring fully decked out in her various pieces of Gear.

“Facing her is the High-Speed Hero in training, Iida Tenya!” Present Mic introduced as Iida walked towards the ring while wearing Support Gear that no one in Class 1-A had ever seen before.

“What the heck is Iida wearing?” Mina blinked at the items.

“I’ve never seen Iida wear any Gear except his costume before.” Toru sounded confused as they all watched Iida enter the ring.

“What’s this Gear, Iida?” Midnight had stepped down from her umpire stand to inquire about the items. Such things should’ve been submitted for acceptance ahead of time. It wasn’t like the ever-earnest Iida to not follow proper procedures.

“I’m terribly sorry for not going through the proper forms and acceptances,” Iida apologized to Midnight. “I was touched by my opponent’s sense of sportsmanship!” Mei grinned, though it was mischievous in nature and she tried to hide it. “Although she is a member of Support Course, she came to me and said ‘If we are to be seen as equals, then we should fight on equal footing.’ And then she gave me these Items to use! Her earnest spirit, I could never look down on it! That was my thinking!”

“You’re adorably naïve…” Midnight held back a giggle at the straight-laced teen.

“If both parties are in agreement, then it should be fine.” Aizawa’s voice came over the speakers. His tone was so dull and factual that no one even wanted to argue the matter.

“I’m absolutely certain that Hatsume is up to something.” Izuku didn’t look convinced that Mei was just being supportive and sportsman-like.

“Totally.” Camie agreed with a grin.

“Yep.” Ochako looked slightly worried for Iida.

“Absolutely.” Momo nodded in agreement.

“Yes.” Tsuyu let out a cute croak.

From the very second that Midnight started the match, Mei had started up a literal Support Gear presentation with Iida as her test dummy! All of the Gear Iida was wearing was presented as if they were at an expo. Every counter Mei made was followed by her describing her ‘baby’ in loving detail and how it could be used in the field. On and on it went, with Item after Item being put on display. Mei could’ve even won the match had she taken advantage on multiple occasions! But at the end of what amounted to a ten minute exposition showing, Mei casually stepped out of bounds with a smile.

“Phew…” Mei wiped her face of sweat. “I believe they’ve seen it all now.” The manic pink-haired inventor looked very pleased with her showing.

“Hatsume is out of the ring! Iida moves on to the next round!” Midnight’s announcement was met with silence as the whole crowd -the teacher’s included- just stared flatly at the pinkette.

“YOU DECEIVED ME!!!” Iida cried out as he witnessed Mei just give up on the match entirely. He was almost hunched over in disbelief as he stared at her in shock.

“Sorry…for using you like that…” Mei apologized, but she was still lightly chuckling under her breath at how well her plan had worked.

“I really dislike you!” Iida declared as he pointed at her with his arm fully extended. The teen was shaking in a mixture of embarrassment and rage.

“Iida is so straightforward…” Izuku sighed at what they’d all just witnessed. “It was easy for Mei to get him to play her game.” Mei had been an excellent teammate in the Capture the Flag game. But the girl had flat out stated her intentions for joining them was to get attention. They really shouldn’t have expected anything less from the manic pinkette.

“Onto the next match! This time we have another recommendation student! He’s a powerhouse and one of the top students in his class, it’s Todoroki Shoto!” Present Mic declared and the crowd worked up even more energy at getting to see another recommended student in action. The Hybrid Quirk user walked out to the field with a severe look on his face. If anyone had been able to clearly see his eyes they’d note the rage within them.

“Hey…does Todoroki look kinda off to anyone else?” Mina questioned as she noted the body language their classmate was giving off.

“Facing off against him is the cool beauty from Class 1-B, Kodai Yui!” Present Mic introduced the ravenette who walked calmly across the field to the ring. She didn’t seem perturbed or bothered in anyway about having Todoroki as her opponent.

“You can do it, Yui!” Most of Class 1-B called out to their friend and classmate. The girls were being especially loud in their support for their friend in her match.

“Show them the power of Class 1-B!” Monoma crowed out, only to get a chop to the head by a large hand.

“Will you shut up with that rivalry shtick already?!” Kendo admonished the Copy Quirk user.

“Mmh.” Yui had a very subdued response to all of the cheering. She focused on her opponent without a care to the anger she could see on his face.

“Are you both ready?” Midnight asked as she looked between Yui and Todoroki.

“Yes.” Shoto’s one word reply was filled with a cold rage.

“Yes.” Yui’s reply was equally short, but simply came with a subdued tone.

“Then you may begin!” Midnight cracked her whip to start the match.

“Sorry about this,” Todoroki exhaled frosted breath. In an instant, literally the blink of an eye, a glacier appeared in the stadium! Everyone stared in silent shock at the mass of ice that Todoroki had formed. It was pointed straight upwards, poking far out of the stadium like a titanic icicle.

“What the heck is up with your class?!” Present Mic questioned Aizawa as everyone stared up at the spire of ice.

“You should worry less about a misfired show of force and more about the winner of the match.” Aizawa stated flatly, his eyes still on the ring.

“Huh?” Present Mic looked down, followed by the entirety of the audience, to see Todoroki flat on his back in the dirt. “What just happened?!”

“Kodai’s Quirk just happened.” Aizawa replied to the confusion of everyone.

“What?” Todoroki blinked as he stared up at the sky in confusion. He saw the immense icicle that he’d made, but the angle was completely wrong. It should have rushed straight towards his opponent. He sat up and realized he was touching the dirt of the stadium floor. “How?”

“Todoroki is out of bounds! Kodai is the winner!” Midnight called from her umpire stand.

“Where did the ring go?” Todoroki couldn’t believe he had to ask that question.

“I am the ring now.” Yui answered -saying the line that Setsuna had asked her to- as the massive icicle that Todoroki made shrank until it was only a few feet high. The less expressive girl’s hand was touching the icicle meaning she most likely had something to do with it. The next thing everyone saw made them question themselves for a moment.

Beneath Yui’s feet was a small square. Both of her feet took up the space the concrete block provided. When the cameras zoomed in, it was revealed to be an exact match for the suddenly missing ring. It only took a second for it to click for some.

“She shrunk the entire ring!” Izuku flipped to a new page so quickly that it was amazing he didn’t shred his notebook. The high-speed writing that followed nearly set the pages on fire from the sheer friction!

“INCREDIBLE!!!” Present Mic nearly jumped on top of the commentator’s table. “Kodai Yui secures a win by literally removing the ring from play! Todoroki’s show of power meant nothing as his position was changed by his fall and his attack misfired straight upwards! What an ingenious maneuver!”

The cheers that erupted from Class 1-B’s seating area were so loud they startled the stadium. But after a moment it also prompted the same excited applause and cheering from the rest of the audience. Todoroki simply stared as Yui asked him to deal with the icicle so that she could restore the ring.

“Yui! You were awesome!” Setsuna cried out to her friend with a smile full of sharp teeth.

“Behold the power of Class 1-B!” Monoma cackled before being silence by Kendo’s fist.

Todoroki moved slowly as he placed his hand on the shrunken icicle and began to heat it up. The ice let out a tower of steam as it released the mass of water within. While it may have shrunk, it was still the same titanic icicle that Todoroki had made and all the water had to be evaporated for it to fully disappear. Once the steam stopped and the icicle was gone, Yui monotonously shooed Todoroki away and put her fingertips together.

“Release.” Yui intoned and everyone watched as the ring beneath her feet returned to its normal size.

“Hey, our Quirks have the same release method!” Ochako commented with a grin. Maybe she should get to know this Yui girl? They might have more in common about their Quirks, even if their abilities were still different.

“Noted.” Izuku remarked as he added that to the page he was making about Yui and her Quirk in his notebook. Ochako couldn’t help but giggle at him.

In a different part of the stadium a certain Pro Hero blazed in agitation. His son had lost instantly! His power meant nothing in the face of a girl that was clearly used to activating her Quirk quickly. The worst part of this loss was that it had absolutely nothing to do with Shoto’s left side. How was he supposed to make his rebellious son see that he needed both sides of his Quirk if he wanted to surpass him as a Hero?!

“Shoto…” Endeavor, the Number Two Pro Hero clenched his fists as he watched his son leave the arena floor in defeat.

“Looks like you’re up, Izukun!” Camie grinned as she leaned against him.

“Do your best, Izuku!” Ochako smiled at the green-eyed boy she loved. Her cheeks still went red admitting that, even in her own head!

“You’ll be great, kero!” Tsuyu’s smile was adorable and Izuku couldn’t help but return it.

“I believe you’ll win, Izuku.” Momo admitted with a bright smile that was full of confidence.

“Thank you, Camie, Tsu, Ochako, Momo.” Izuku smiled at all of them as he stood up and headed for the arena floor and the ring that awaited him.

“Let’s get started with the next match!” Present Mic declared to the stadium and the cheers of the crowd. “For this match we have the Multi-Quirked teen that’s proven to be a powerhouse and top contender! From the Hero Course Class 1-A, it’s Midoriya Izuku!” He introduced as Izuku made his way towards the ring.

“You can do it, Izuku!” Camie yelled loudly down to him.

“Facing him down is the High-Voltage Man himself, also from Hero Course Class 1-A, Kaminari Denki!” Present Mic introduced Izuku’s opponent. Kaminari walked into the ring with a grin and stood across from Izuku.

“Kinda feels like a mismatch to me.” Kaminari chuckled even as his Quirk sparked across his body.

“I’ll show you something new if you want?” Izuku grinned at the friendly banter.

“Bring it on!” Kaminari laughed as he took a loose stance.

“Alright, are both competitors ready?” Midnight asked the two teens as they stood across from one another.

“Yep!” Kaminari replied as his Quirk sparked over his body briefly.

“Ready.” Izuku agreed with a smile as he also took a ready stance.

“Then you may begin!” Midnight started the match with another sharp crack of her whip.

“Blitzing ya!” Kaminari burst forward far faster than anyone in Class 1-A had ever seen him move before. Izuku’s eyes widened but he activated his ‘Mental Boost’ Quirk and his perception sharpened, allowing him to pivot and dodge the rush.

“Was that a new application of your Quirk?!” Izuku was excited and it showed on his face. He thought he might have heard some laughter from the audience, but he ignored it.

“Yep!” Kaminari grinned back. “I took some ideas from class and other Pro Heroes with Electric Type Quirks and figured I’d see if I couldn’t make something new, ya know?”

“That’s neat! Tell me all about it later!” Izuku held out his right arm, fully extended, to his side. “But I did say I’d show you something new too!” ‘Air Compression’, ‘Kinetic Boost’, ‘Gas Manipulation’, ‘Force Multiplier’, ‘Efficiency’, ‘Amplification’, ‘Spin’ Izuku compiled seven Quirks together as air started to visibly swirl around his outstretched arm.

“Is that a Wind Quirk?!” Kaminari questioned, before deciding he didn’t want the answer as he blitzed forward again. He just needed to get close enough to Izuku to shock him with his electricity.

“Not quite!” Izuku now had a howling gale around his right arm that was sending out high-speed wind. “I call this combination Tornado Fist!” Izuku punched straight towards the rapidly approaching Kaminari.

A sideways tornado blasted forward and Kaminari’s eyes widen before he dashed perpendicular to the incoming winds and dodged the attack. The spiraling winds travelled out of the ring and lost cohesion about halfway to the wall that held the seating for the audience. The winds that were whipped up by the storm level winds made the capes of many Heroes fly and get in the faces of those nearby.

“What the hell, Midoriya?!” Kaminari pointed at his classmate in shock. “That’s totally a Wind Quirk!”

“No, really, it’s not.” Izuku shook his head even as the gale around his right arm regained speed and power quickly. “It’s a combination of seven other Quirks is all.”

“Don’t just say that so casually as if it’s normal.” Kaminari sighed at his friend and classmate.

“Kaminari is out of bounds!” Midnight declared and both competitors’ eyes went wide at the announcement. “Midoriya wins!”

“What?!” Kaminari looked down and noticed that both of his feet were indeed over the line. “Oh crap! I went too fast!” He held his head at the mistake he’d made.

“Can you not regulate your speed yet, or are you unable to keep track of your position when you move that fast?” Izuku questioned as the tornado around his right arm slowed and eventually dissipated entirely.

“Little bit of both…” Kaminari admitted as the two left the arena to cheers and applause.

“That was some good thinking, kiddo!” A female Hero called down to Kaminari as they neared the tunnel that would take them back into the stands. “Better than just throwing electricity around and hoping to hit your target!”

“That’s one hell of a punch you’ve got there, Midoriya!” Another Hero yelled with a laugh as both teens accepted the praise with a short bow. The two had obviously made a positive impact on the crowd.

“Kaminari has adapted his Quirk! Midoriya shows off another crazy combination! What more can you expect from the U.A. High Sports Festival?!” Present Mic hollered through the speakers getting a resounding roar from the audience.

“It’s good to see them both improving and looking for further applications of their abilities.” Aizawa gave some genuine praise for his students. It seemed that Kaminari was looking to play to his Quirk’s characteristics instead of trying to emulate Heroes that had electric-based Quirks that operated completely differently to his own. Midoriya didn’t need much said about him though. The Multi-Quirk user seemed to constantly pull together new ideas for his multitude of abilities.

-A Closed Bar-

“That cheater…damn him…” Shigaraki Tomura scratched at his own neck fiercely as he watched the Sports Festival. The brat that somehow had a Quirk like Sensei’s was showing off in front of everyone. He hated him! He’d kill him! “Just you wait, Midoriya Izuku…” The Villain growled at the screen.

-Hidden Location-

“Hahahaha…” All for One chuckled darkly as his ‘Electric Imaging’ Quirk allowed him to watch the Sports Festival. “So interesting, so much like me.” The ancient Villain tapped a stack of papers under his right hand with his index finger. “But then again, I guess it’s to be expected.” Dr. Garaki’s genealogy research had finally come in and the results were amusing to say the least. “So much like me, yet so much like him. I guess it really does run in the blood. It’s where we all get it from it seems.”

Under his tapping finger was a name that linked Midoriya Izuku to the Shigaraki Family. Indeed it was a name that linked the teen to him, but also to his foolish younger brother as well.

Shigaraki Megumi

The Tournament starts!

Already some big changes, huh?

Both Bakugo and Todoroki are already out!

Izuku revealed a new Quirk! Plus a new combination based on that Quirk!

Quirk #33: Spin - Allows one to spin objects in a circle around a fixed point on their body. A ridiculously low weight limit makes the Quirk not very well suited to Hero Work.

Good thing Izuku can juice it up, huh?

The air doesn’t weigh much either!

Now how about that little teasing reveal at the end? Did you like that?

Who is Shigaraki Megumi?

Keep reading to find out!

Until I get your reviews, later!

I've always thought it would be just irony for Izuku to be the younger brother descendent LoL

Tristan McKenzie O'Meara

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Shigaraki Megumi you say? Also, FUCK YEAH YU YU HAKUSHO REFERENCE!

TheMedia_Ghost

This is a huge surprise! Having both Todoroki and Bakugo out in the first round. I really enjoy you show off class B student, they don't get enough love

dudeitschill

I’ve said this before but where your fics really shine is when you start flexing your creativity and this chapter could also have been called creative ways to use underrated quirks nice job

Kairomaru

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! Need to change things up because just rehashing Canon is boring! Spin, spin, spin goes the air...at 200mph!

Hannah Pinson

I like how you had Bakugo and Todoroki taken out in their first matches. Also curious how this Megumi person links Midoriya and All For One. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Kairomaru

Glad you liked it! I wanted to shake up Canon and I've already built up changes in the story, so why not use them, right? That sub-plot will continue in the background for a while yet, look forward to it!

Michael Mendoza

Nice to see class 1-B get some wins as well. It’s a refreshing aspect to usual ff.

Kairomaru

Glad you liked it! Yeah, I wanted to shake things up a little and keep the story interesting!

TheSinful

By Setsuna, you mean me?

Kairomaru

I imagine she's very close to your thought process among the 1-B class. So I used her for the source of the line. Also, I think she's in your Top 3 for 1-B girls too.

Anonymous

Can't wait for All Might's reaction to Izuku being related to All For One, if he reveals it of course

God of Darkness and Shadows

Was not expecting Bakugo and Todoroki were eliminated, but excited to see what happens from here on out.

sparkydragon98

Daaaamn, I was not expecting that! 1B really took the stage this chapter! Bakugo actually losing, which makes sense in the face of Kirishima's Unbreakable form (good for that jerk)! And Todoroki losing to Yui in an instant! I had a feeling she'd be trouble for him, cause she'd be able to shrink his ice, but I hadn't expected her to shrink the ring! As expected of 1B's best girl! If she could shrink the ring, then I'm thinking either Ochako or Izuku will be the one to take her out. Sero losing to Honenuki was also not surprising, since he can manipulate non-living (or is it inorganic?) things. Kaminari's new Quirk application was also really cool and something I feel he should have gotten in canon, honestly. And that Tornado Fist, lol... guess you were inspired by Yu Yu Hakusho! Can't wait for the next chapter!

Kairomaru

Glad you liked it, Sparky! I have to change things up, otherwise the story becomes boring, right?

Josh

Wait wait wait WAIT!! Camie "giggles at her boyfriend" when how and WHAT ?

Josh

Is that a typo form sun hero? What's happening

Josh

Okay fine so long as I didn't miss anything. The "making it official" is the juiciest part
