I've been trying to take it easy lately. Although I did briefly produce a bit of work for web comic, Cassiopeia Quinn. You can read that HERE.

I watched Netflix's The Witcher and liked it. I also played through Nier: Automata and enjoyed it. I don't really make time for video games anymore, so it's nice. The last… X many years of my life have focused almost entirely on work. I want to say something like… 8 years?

I'd like to continue my mini-vacation, but I should really get back to work soon. I'll just have to be mindful to not push myself too hard so I can still find time to relax. I think you should consider doing the same too.

Plan for January:

Having kept my mind off of work thus far, I do not yet know what I will be creating during the month.

As for this month's Concept Art content… I do not have any concrete ideas. I might simply choose to freely explore some Beaumont-related concepts rather than trying to solve any one particular design problem.

Creative Expression & Long-Term Goals:

In a recent video by Bobby Chiu (artist & creator of Schoolism), Chiu talked about the importance of long-term goals (in addition to continuous learning). Which has me thinking about creating some long-term goals for myself, though I have yet to determine what exactly.

The length of these goals can be as long as entire year. That's a lot longer than anything I've ever worked on before, but there's something enticing about the feeling of building towards something greater. I briefly experienced this feeling when creating the Beaumont Prototype in October.

Perhaps I should endeavor to create another narrative-based work? A comic of some kind? I also have a bunch of game development tools at my disposal, such as GameMaker Studio 2, RPG Maker, and even Dreams (PS4). I've got a lot of options that I can choose from. I just have to figure out exactly what I'd want to do (not something that comes easily to me).

That said, I am generally excited about the prospect of finding new ways to creatively express myself.

Health Concerns:

It might not be anything to worry about, but I've noticed an occasional pain in the left side of my chest lately. It does not happen very often, and has rarely gotten painful enough to elicit groans or reflexive convulsions. Still, it is something to be mindful of.

I don't expect that I will see a doctor about it. That's completely out of character, and probably expensive. It might just be related to a lack of sleep, lack of exercise, and poor dietary choices. I'll try to take better care of myself.

I want to thank you for all your support and patience.

Don't forget to eat & sleep.

As for the last part, take a look into Ring Fit Adventure. I've heard its a fun game on its own and works really well for exercising

Glad to hear you got a chance to relax. And I think having a long-term goal is good, especially if you break it into smaller chunks. I would say if your cheat pain starts to get worse, or happens more frequently, you should definitely see a doctor then. Could be any number of issues, and I don't want to see you kick the bucket!

I am actively interested in Ring Fit Adventure. But I lack the physical space required to actually play it. I'd need enough space to be able to lie down and move comfortably.

I'm going to bet that the pain is related to you falling out of shape as you get older and your circulatory system atrophying. I had similar issues some years back that completely went away when I started doing regular yoga and workouts. I have exactly the same problem as you, I have no room to maneuver anywhere here, but it's going to be MUCH more important that you make room. There comes a point when you can afford to be lazy and just let stuff pile up, but you're getting the signs that you need to change or suffer.
