Good after reaction talk guys, i really enjoyed it. Since you brought it up YBRL i would also like to say my biggest complaint about reactions is you guys not speaking your minds/self-censoring. Excited for season 2 keep up the good work :)

Great reaction and discussion In my opinion, there are times where I find it difficult or unable to empathize with other people. But I could always sympathize with them. Empathizing is putting yourself in their shoes and feeling what they felt. Sympathizing is laying down the facts and understanding what it means from your perspective. I feel that empathy is more of an innate thing while sympathy is something that comes from experience. If you have more experience, you will know the cause and effect of things and how things usually follow a certain pattern. Homelander might be a difficult person to empathize with but I think one can fully sympathize with his situation. Of course you'd need to make some assumptions since the story doesn't fully explore his past. But just imagine someone who never had parental love, never had any friends and now he grew up and its evident he is trying to seek those feelings from other people like Stillwell for example. Just look at the cause and effect. Dude is a socio or psychopath (effect) and we can tie in his backstory (cause) and we have easily understood why he is the way he is. I think if you acknowledge his psychotic behavior with his past then you have successfully sympathized with that person

Let’s go Team Homelander!

I don't quite agree, sympathy doesn't require much, if any, experience and is oftentimes not helpful. It's feeling pity for their situation, but creates a distance between us and whoever is experiencing the emotions. Empathy is much more difficult, in its true form not the popularized version, and forces us to not only understand cause and effect, but the deeper underlying motivators, the whys. Sympathy involves judgment, from our own perspective, often accompanied with pity; Empathy requires much more experience, because we have to remove ourselves, our judgements and prejudices, which doesn't come naturally to most people, but can be practiced. That being said, I agree with your analysis of Homelander, and agree that empathy would be very difficult, while sympathy easy, because we have to do no work to feel sympathy. Sympathy rarely helps the subject it's directed towards, because it is so superficial. Then again, idk if the goal is to help Homelander, but if it is, sympathy gets us nowhere

Great reaction, love this show and it’s multiple character. A lot of this talking point can be controversial but I think everyone who comes for this show would understand.

Teyon Alexander

Well all reactor’s probably self censor. The problem here is that they announce they are self censoring. Less announcing of it and instead just do it.

Lucky

For the supe terrorist it would be practically impossible to truly convict vought of creating them. There are so many excuses like they developed their serum on their own, they stole our serum, etc. It may seem obvious to everyone but vought also has the money and resources to bury any kind of evidence that they created supervillians

Yaboyrocklee

Yea. Speaking my mind includes announcing where I’m drawing a line lol. It’s also a verbal tool for folks to have a general idea of what I’m thinking without me finishing. But yea. Folks wouldn’t be able to tolerate my unfiltered opinions

Yaboyrocklee

Last. I’ll generally censor myself more when AdorkableNerd is present because she will go further following my lead and say something completely wild. Where if it’s Director we tend to just talk and phrase it right or laugh like idiots when we know Cant say more. My bad that it bothers you that I announce lol.

Ophelia Pane

Bruh that instant sorry when you said you with Homelander and Black Noir was funny as hell.

Key

Your right I usually catch what you wanted to say or what you was thinking, just want that confirmation lmao. Not a big deal anyway you kinda mentioned it thats why i brought it up. Keep up the great content👍

Ranginald Vagel

Bro the thumbnail should be the thumbnail of the video it's perfect

Daniel Borrego

i wonder what starlights actual powers are. apparently she can tank a sniper rifle round as well as being super strong and going all dazzlers. In a way butcher actual did her a favor too. Puts her back in the 'good' guys catagory. makes it obvious that she wasnt on thier side.

David Haller

They make fun of it in the show, but one of the things I love with this show is how they give each "secondary" member of the seven (except Black Noir, because he's been great) an arc that reflects modern day celebrity occurrences. A-train is representative of athletes, the pressures to succeed, and the roads one takes to ensure that success so that you are not replaced by the 'shiny new toy' (in the comics, A-train is a legacy title and there have been multiple over the years). Deep is obviously the trend of sexual assault and cancel culture comeuppance. Maeve seems to represent self-loathing and the "cost" that comes with fame, with her relationship with Elena and the plane hijacking. While it may not seem like much, it's little things like that which make me love this series so much. Really liking the reactions, and I hope you enjoy the upcoming episodes and the new season coming out.

Mintteacup

Maybe all heroes have increased durability to handle their superpowers, someone like mesmer probably wouldn't need much of an increase because his powers don't strain his body.

Daniel Borrego

well a-train seemed somewhat vulnerable at least. Though maybe his body gets stronger as he goes faster. i think the deep is just basically a human whos in shape, can breath underwater and understands aquatic animals though maybe he gets stronger underwater. the batman guy im assuming is just a ninja type character and has no super powers to speak of. obviously homelander and maeve are ultra tough and strong.

Ranginald Vagel

The vast majority of Supes get stronger and tougher to wildly varying degrees, on top of a random mutation. Half the reason Mesmer is such a washout is because he missed out on the default strength buff and so he remained a normal guy with a gimmick. Starlight's power specifically is to absorb and convert nearby energy into light(why nearby lights flicker when she starts powering up).

Xsardes

Ladybug is litteraly the modern Code Lyoko, and Lyoko is the greatest show ever, so yea! of course I know it (I mean it's even made by some of the same people) = technicly a kid show, but it's fire and it have some themes/scenes that are definitly intended for older audience...well Lyoko at times was at "HOW THE FUCK THIS EVEN MADE IT TO A KID SHOW?!", but I guess kids back in the day were more ok with darker stuff. PS. Nasty being confused as fuck, when you drop references made my day

Karabo

That post discussion was real af. I also now when people fuck me over I try to lead with empathy and I realize how they became this way. Life is fucked up out here, try to have empathy yall

Black Hawk

They going to disrespect LeBron James and Akron like that. Disrespectful
