I definitely didn't know what I was getting into when I started watching this. The name kind of threw me off and I didn't expect it to be this real. Still enjoyed watching it though despite the heartache throughout the show.

Yeah I jumped into this show completely blind, other than hearing that it's good. After finishing it, along with that additional manga chapter, it became one of my favorites. Sure it gave me depression for a week, but I never regretted watching it.

@poisonivybag It's a little silly to near drop an anime just because of two guys kissing, imo anyway. However beyond just anime that's not homophobic. From my understanding it's actually pretty common for straight, or even gay people to have involuntary disgust reactions, or cringe, to sexual acts exclusively involving the sex they're not oriented towards. So it's not really fair to blame a straight guy if two guys kissing makes them uncomfortable, and it's not homophobic if they'd rather not.

Sadly it isn't even just the kiss, it was everything about the way Ash's character was brought up as well as his forms of defense. I went to a panel in 2019, before everything shut down the next year, and it was a serious discussion with the director, producer, and others involved.

@solatic well if you're referring to the kiss scene being sexualized by the viewers then yeah you would be right, but that's also the entire point i was trying to make: the fact that it shouldn't be. i also understand what you're trying to say, but the only way i would view those situations as erotic is if i were to view female bodies in general as sexual in nature (which i don't) AND/OR if the situation escalates and sexual intent becomes obvious. so yes, to me at least, nothing about those situations is inherently sexual. ultimately all i can really say is agree to disagree. feel free to correct me if i misinterpreted anything but this is the last of my input im gonna give on this, have a good one
