Hey so when noya received that ball that was targeted towards tanaka, it wasn’t bc he didn’t believe in him but it’s bc the Libero Is in charge of defense so noya receiving instead of a spiker would give the wing spiker (tanaka) the chance to attack.

Yea lots of people that don't know that a libero is a wasted position if you dont use it. Better to have them receive it and let your spikers time their approach. Letting a libero receive is comparable to letting your fastest runner be the last leg in a relay race, letting your point gaurd run offense, or letting a pinch hitter hit. Just gives your team the best chance of winning.

i feel like part of tanaka's justification isn't that it "has to be a challenge" to get with someone, it's more like "just because she's into me, does that mean i have to go for her? or do i stick with the person i do have feelings for?" i feel like tanaka is a lot more emotionally mature than people give him credit for

She said she got heart broken by Tanaka because Tanaka is always straightforward with what he likes and wants to do. So him being wishy-washy with her meant that he didn’t really like her, it was more like it was the first time for him so he felt embarrassed. On the other hand when Tanaka first saw Kiyoko he immediately asked her to marry him which really solidifies his personality.

It amazes me how every reactor completely forgets that volleyball is a team sport this episode. The point isn't about whether or not the team believes in Tanaka. The point is this is nationals and they're trying to win. But of course the team believes in Tanaka.

If the libero can dig the ball, they should. They can't participate in attacking, and Tanaka is then free to make a clean approach, so Nishinoya did the right thing. It just sort of puts a damper on Tanaka's spirit, because he knows they're now targeting him, and he hasn't done anything significant to positively affect the game as of yet.

When Kanoka (Tanaka's childhood friend) said that she got her heart broken this episode it was cause the first time she said it she said she thinks that it was broken cause she probably thought there was a slim chance that he could change his mind but after seeing him play she realized that no matter how tough it gets Tanaka will always try his best despite the hurdles he may face and that solidified her belief in her broken heart.

also tanaka admitted afterwards he messed up. Him recieving the ball was a mistake and he was just getting caught up in the fight between him and the server. The libero should always be ideally the one who recieves over the wing spiker otherwise tanaka can't attack and score.

Just barley,I feel the Libero has the right to every receive just as long as he’s not a dick about it.if he was in range to recieve it then that’s his probably his natural instinct since he’s so good,I also don’t think if it was a real problem the coach probably would have said something too

Exactly. Nishinoya CAN do offense but he is still a mostly defensive player. Tanaka is more of an offensive player. If Tanaka had received that, he would not have been able to spike it because he had already hit it. If anything, Nishinoya was giving Tanaka a chance to make an offensive play.
