The offending website, Kemono, has an email address marked "Legal," and I sent them a firm request to delete my work from the site. Does the address go straight to the trash? Probably.

I did send a notification to Patreon Support, letting them know what has happened and asking if there is anything I can do. They may not be able to help me specifically, but since there are other Patreon users whose work has been copied and published on the site (potentially costing Patreon revenue as well as some embarrassment), maybe they will take action.

I did notice that the post from yesterday addressing this issue has not appeared on the site (along with the last two reviews). Although I hate to think it, it is possible that this was an inside job. That's to say, some subscriber copied and pasted the work for their own weird reasons.

If this is the case, please stop! It's not so much the potential lost income or any intellectual property claim, so much as I don't really want my work publicly associated with Japanese furry porn.

(As a parent, I know that there are few strategies less effective than "I won't get mad, but please just admit it." Still, if a subscriber made an honest mistake, I'd be more than willing to forgive, so long as it stops.)

Is it melodramatic to say I feel a bit violated? Again, it's not the circulation of the writing itself so much as my inability to control my public image and exert some semblance of control over my writing. We all deserve some tiny sphere of relative autonomy.

Thank you all for your continued support. More writing will be along shortly.

I’ve actually come across this site before—unfortunately, “inside job” is indeed the name of the game, as the way these posts get archived is through subscribers offering up their own Patreon logins. Best wishes re: wrangling a successful takedown, and worst wishes to whoever the rat is!!
