I can't even fully express how excited I am about this.

Here are some photos I've taken over the last few days since a picture often speaks louder than words!

The whale is young and healthy and experts are not sure why he/she is here right now, but there are no signs of distress thankfully!

I was sure my car was going to be towed because there was nowhere to legally park, but I figured it was worth it and I left the old girl on the side of the street while I climbed down into the river bank at various points on the north and south banks of the Saint Lawrence river. After being in the cold for so long (yes it is still cold on some days here) I was starting to lose feeling in my fingers, so I decided to head back to the car. To my astonishment, the car was still there! Ha!
So I figured, why not push a bit longer. I had just seen the whale wake up and start swimming around so I thought he/she might be getting active soon, even though it was already 9 pm at that point.

When I didn't think I had enough light left to shoot, I once again decided to leave, called Doyle to check in and then, I turned around one last time to take a look and I saw his/her waterspout. So, AGAIN I went back. And I'm so glad I did because that's when he/she started breaching!!!!!!

I took some of these photos after the sun had set and my actual eyeballs couldn't even see in the dark anymore, but I could faintly see and hear splashes so I pointed and shot and was VERY excited to get home and look at the captures!

Hopefully I will be getting more over the coming days or the whale will decide to go home. I also could really use a boat or a sports lens right now, but it's okay! It's still an amazing experience to witness this whale dancing around my city, even if I don't have the equipment needed to get a really amazing shot. There is still magic in these photos! Enjoy!

P.S. Welcome to all new June Beastlings and thank you ALL for your support!
