HxH fans seem to be toxic everywhere. don't bite lol the way she looked at emma before they left and kind of cheered for them, i think shes acting and might join them. guess we have to wait and see lol

Ray is my fav character too (and I said it before you said while I was watching your reaction 😋). He's a savage (when did he become such a savage btw?!). And I love his attitude, character design, voice (obv), and his intelligence. I looked up the name of Isabella's dude and it's Leslie...and I got spoiled when I looked it up 😭. It's ok though, just a minor spoiler I guess.. I like Isabella too btw. And I haven't given up on her yet. I think she might try to find a way to get Leslie AND help the kids escape, kind of like be a double-agent. Maybe that's just what I want her to do. Also this might be trivial to most ppl, but I really liked how they waited 10 min, then 30 min after testing/eating the gooey fish to see if it was poisonous. Most shows (anime and non-anime) have a character take one bite of something sus and wait a few seconds and they're like "it's good to go!" I think the waiting just showed how intelligent these kids really are. Was just cool to see for me...

Yeah, Kil- I mean Ray is great. I think she's on point with him willing to risk his life as a way of making up for wanting to leave them behind. I also wondered if Isabella actually plans on helping the kids. If so I’m guessing that she’ll be presented ambiguously to keep us on our toes, doubting and unsure if she has good intentions, until the last moment. I sort of wondered why they didn't trap a small carnivorous animal to test the food on, like humans do with lab rats and guinea pigs, but it was obviously to drive home Ray's character now that I think about it (his "death wish"). Though it seemed initially reckless and a little fucked up to risk each other’s lives like that.

I watch promised neverland and rarely comment. but only because I don't watch it until after I've seen it on my own and then have extra free time to watch again. so sometimes its like days later and i dont see the reason to comment. Definitely still enjoy the reactions.

So, was trying to get info on TPN because of twitter comments that the adaptation was “ruined” because the Goldy Pond arc is being skipped. Season 1 started with the Introduction arc (eps 1-3; ch1-9) then ended with the Jailbreak arc (eps 4-12; ch10-37). Season 2 starts with the Promised Forest arc (eps 13-15 (or S2E1-3); ch38-52, or 15chs). Now, I think that sounds alarming (5chs/eps is hasty). Usually a good anime adaptation, that doesn’t skip too much (montages?) or drag things out further with filler or extra flashbacks, a well paced adaptation, should be 2-3 chapters per 24 minute episode. This seems like it glosses over things and rushes past them though I honestly couldn’t notice that as an anime-only watcher (except a little bit this 4th episide). For comparison, One Piece is about 1.1chapters per episode, Naruto and Yu Yu Hakusho is 1.6chs per episode, and HxH was 2.4chs per episode. But there may be good reasons for it we just don’t know. I’ll call the following arc the “Search” arc because it’s full name is perhaps a spoiler (as in I may have spoiled myself just a bit). The Search arc is ch53-74. This arc is partially covered in eps15-16 (=S4E3-4). Lastly, and most importantly, Goldy Pond which is the fan favorite arc for manga readers, is from chapter 75-95. But season 2 episode 4 (or E16) skips this arc entirely. Checked the fandom website for what manga chapters are being adapted into which anime episodes. E13 = ch38-45 (total 8ch) E14 = ch46-49 (4ch) E15 = ch50-55 (6ch) E16 = ch72, and 103-112 (11chapters)

I googled “TPN season 2 canon” and a CBR article (warning if you read the article as it contains a spoiler) says the writer, Kaiu Shirai, of TPN (illustration by Posuka Demizu) is overseeing production of season 2 so that new content or “stories” are added to TPN. While some manga readers are pissed the series skipped their favorite arc (the only arc they prefer over Jailbreak) this youtuber Brandon seems to think they’ll possibly work it back in later. I’m willing to take the wait and see approach as he is. Fullmetal had a canon (2009) and noncanon (2003) series and I enjoyed both, not equally, but I enjoyed them. If anything we’ll have two TPN stories to enjoy and the possibility of a second adaptation in the future (like Brotherhood). It’s (extra) stupid when the manga author is the one working on changes to improve the story, people were complaining about the manga ending before too so this opens up a possibility of improving that, which requires changes beforehand to facilitate later changes, hopefully for the better. So, this is good news and they look as dumb as the people who harassed MAPPA staff over AoT.
