Just some simple stuff. As a reminder, Wollarians have two female sexes, with the larger type like Kalla having a large forked crest, and the smaller type having a smaller ridge-like crest. From the circle you can kinda infer which gender is seen as being intellectually dominant of the three... I suppose these would be sort of like the symbols you see on bathroom doors or somesuch.

The three colorful lines are basic communication symbols, which hearken back to primitive days when Wollarians were still aquatic cliff-dwellers. Safety would have been seen as a calm horizon, and expressed likewise as a flattening or relaxation of the body. Alarm would have been expressed as a dive, or in the body as posturing using the full length of the neck (which for neutral Wollarians is normally retracted, or held close to the body). Caution is in-between, or seen as a state of unbalance or lack of confidence, and it would be very very disconcerting to a Wollarian to walk up to an edifice with a giant slash through it, in the same way that you wouldn't feel great about walking through doors with this plastered all over them. Even though Kalla doesn't seem to remember very much about the processor, it's not surprising that she has a general sense of dread about it.

h m m m see, this makes me think -- looking at the processor's front gate, it DOES look like the same symbol for a pregnant major female...which, maybe, has implications for what the processor does? creates, makes new minds, symbology there? or maybe it was created BY major females and this honors the progenitors...or maybe new kallas come out of that circular pool in the center right there. that seems most likely. (i didn't wanna post this as a comment on the site given that it's dependent on patron content but if there is one thing i have learned from reading your comics over the years it's that your symbolism is pretty much always intentional so this seems like it's probably not a coincidence?)

I saw this before the comic page, and immediately had chills in the pull-out shot. Wow wow wow, Der-shing!
