So far the storyline of what's going on in the Northern Territories has been limited to what's going on in this one family, and the questionably-reliable news that's being filtered down to various characters. Ulyer lives pretty far away so I guess we'll be seeing more of the outside world, and so will our opinionated (but sheltered) princess. 

Oh yeah and in the original comic Ulyer mentioned what he was holding; it's velztrek, which is a hot, fermented salty milk/ curd sort of breakfast meal. He was probably not expecting this to be a 3-person meeting or he would have brought three bowls... he was also probably thinking this engagement would be more formal than a 3-minute ambush, but what can you do~

Speaking of the original comic, the original 45 page chapter thumbnail comics will be released for you all later this week in a big 'ol PDF so you can time travel a bit and see what everyone looked like when I was writing this chapter 10 years ago.
