Hey everyone!

I hope you're all doing well :)

It's that time of the month again, where you get to vote on a few video ideas. In November, on top of the usual Linux News, you'll also get to watch a look at the CuteFish Desktop environment, a look at how to install other distributions on the JingPad A1, and how well that works, and, very probably, a new Tuxedo laptop review.  I'll also start my quest to find a replacement to Firefox, and compare various browsers to try and find one that works for me (yes, it probably will be Chromium-based, unfortunately).

And so, the topics you can vote on are listed below:

- Linux Fanboy reviews Windows 11: I haven't touched Windows for more than a few minutes in the past 6 years, and since Windows 11 is now out, it's time to take a look at it, from the perspective of a Linux user. Expect as much objectivity as possible, but also some unavoidable jabs.

- Is elementary OS user friendly? An honest look at how elementary OS works for beginners that have never touched a computer, and users used to Windows, and macOS.

- Why isn't Linux more popular on the desktop? A few reasons why I think Linux hasn't really achieved much notoriety on the desktop, and why the general public hasn't even heard about it

- Is Linux Owned by anyone? A simple video looking into who owns Linux, from the code, to the trademark, if anyone.

So, let me know which videos you want to see next month, and I'll pick the 2 with the most votes!

Best,

Nick

Timo, I agree with your comment. I use Fedora as my main OS since I teach RHEL. Haven't used Windows since I started teaching in 2008. I did pay for Elementary OS and also a couple of app -- Minder and Outliner.

Fedora user here as well ;) Actually Minder and Outliner are two great apps and maybe a(nother) story for Nick about “Productivity on Linux”?!… I am more interested in this than gaming on Linux, but understand that might be perceived as boring by a lot of folks as well
