This movie wasn't really on my radar, but people told me I'd love it. And I did have a good time! :D Love myself some detectives, and with animals? Perfect combo!

Ooh wow, a fun movie. I hope you enjoyed it. There is a previous film related to this, from 2 years before... The Crying Game (1992). You will understand at least one more joke if you get the reference 🙂 lol, I'm not saying you can time travel. Let's just say that "Crying Game" was meme-worthy at the time before memes existed (I don't know that) and so Ace Ventura was memeing... lol... it's funny because it's true (no it's not) lol... yes I make myself laugh.

i understood all of what you said. lol. And yea its kind of accurate to a degree. Jim Carrey WAS almost a walking meme before there was a such a thing.

Since you liked this, I highly recommend The Mask (1994). I also love Dumb & Dumber (1994), but I think you'll prefer The Mask between the two of them. Both of those movies, along with Ace Ventura, came out in the same year, making Jim Carrey a megastar in an incredibly short span of time. If you watch those and want to dig a little deeper into Carrey's catalog, my favorite of his wacky comedy movies is The Cable Guy (1996). He is also in a very good biopic about an actor named Andy Kaufman called Man on the Moon (1999), where he is wacky but also giving a dramatic performance like The Truman Show. Even if you don't know who Andy Kaufman was, the movie holds up (plus, the film will tell you about him).
