This is a great reaction. I love how you've gone from overwhelmed by the intensity and horror of a film like this to overwhelmed and drawn in by the intensity and horror of a film like this. When I first saw Sicario a few years ago, I was amazed at how well it parsed out the exposition so that we are as lost and confused as Kate is. I was pointed at the film by the video linked below which breaks down the narrative structure of the first act to really ratchet up the intensity of the confrontation on the bridge. Cinefix is a great resource for these sorts of breakdowns.
