Curaitis

Wonderful Movie. Thanks Mary.

Michael Kang-Beats

YES! One of my top 10 favorites. Can't wait to watch this with you tonight.

Well, I'm not sure which movie you're talking about, but while I was watching Eternal Sunshine, I couldn't help but notice a stunning similarity to Master and Commander.

So glad you chose to react to this one! It's such a great movie!

Michael Kang-Beats

I'm jealous of people who watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for the first time.

Mr. Writhms

You could have it erased from your memory and watch it again. 😁

I love this movie so much. It's definitely one of those films that's "an experience", where you just go on this journey through someone's memories, getting the "feel" of these two people in a relationship, through their most poignant moments... and, in the end, watch them decide what to do about it all. What's great about the resolution/moral of the story, where they say, "Okay" to all the hardships that await them, the times thick and thin... is that none of it would mean anything to you, as an audience member, if you hadn't seen them react with one another, through good times and bad. This isn't a movie that can be resolved or appreciated with exposition, like so many other sci-fi movies can. And there's so many moments that remind me of relationships in my own life, that this movie always makes me cry a river lol. Really a special piece of cinema. P.S. Jim Carrey was the Riddler in one of the really bad Batman movies, and the Lacuna boss (Howard) was a villain in one of the really good Batman movies. Kirsten Dunst was Mary Jane in the early Spiderman movies, and the other Elijah Wood movie is Sin City. Kate Winslet is the only cast member who hasn't been in a super hero and/or comic book movie, although she was in the Divergent series, which comes from sci-fi novels. But yeah, almost everyone! P.P.S. I was really shocked when you figured out that the beginning of the movie was the end of the movie at just 25 minutes in! At the earliest possible time, you basically spoiled the movie yourself haha. Good job! :)

Punch Drunk Love is another great movie with a tone like this movie. I'm not saying their plots are similar. They are just both quirky movies that I love

I know you love courtroom dramas so I'd like to suggest "To Kill a Mockingbird. It's a classic.

I'm gonna start calling the Big Dipper "Big Bear".

Wow, you finally came around to this movie. I think this was mentioned some time ago. Another movie that shows Jim Carey can act. Mark Ruffalo before the MCU. When I first saw Mark in the previews when the movie was coming out, I thought it was Johnny Knoxville because there were times you see Johnny Knoxville had his hair spiked up and wore black frame glass lol. Definitely a great Jim Carey movie that should be right up there with his comedy films. So much I want to say about this movie. Such a great movie. Now, on with the reaction

The problem with erasing the memory is you can't erase the feelings. A person can feel heart broken and don't know why because they erased the person that either broke up with them or died. The ending were it repeats of Joel and Clementine running in the snowy sand, I heard symbolizes that they broke up and got back together again only to break up again. I don't see how I didn't realize it before, that whenever Joel brings Clementine with him into one of his past memories, they're erasing those memories. Wondering if erasing those memories make him a different person in some way. Just like Clementine, but those feelings are still there. I do like the twist with the doctor and Mary Jane lol
