If there is one movie I'd never thought I'd watch, let alone like, it's this one :D. That's why I love this channel, to broaden my view and notice I like so many more movies.

I hope you enjoy the reaction too ^^

Very entertaining reaction, Mary, you really got it. You know that many reactors have seen this movie, and most of them really didn't understand what it meant for Rocky to go the distance, or what going the distance really means. Congratulatins for really understanding. Yes you really have to see Rocky 2, you need to see the second part of this story, and we all want you to watch the whole series. There is a whole, whole lot more to the Rocky story than boxing. And there is a Creed movie after, and Creed II and Creed III is coming out in November. You might not understand now why there are Creed movies coming out now 46 years after this movie, but if you get there and watch them, you will enjoy all of them. It's not a movie, it's a saga, lol.

yea definitely check out eh second one> Ayb better than the first

If you do them one a month rather than like Spider-Man where you watched them in bunches, then it will probably be better for you, because the Rocky movies, even moreso than Spider-Man, follow a formula. That said, Rocky is absolutely one of the greatest movie characters of all time, and even when the movies are so-so, the character remains incredibly endearing, along with Adrian and Mickey (and Paulie remains...Paulie, which can be great even if he is not so endearing). That said, my personal recommendation to hit the major story points would be to go from this to Rocky III, from that to Rocky Balboa (the sixth film), and from Rocky Balboa to Creed (the seventh film). I assume this will be controversial, because there are people who love Rocky IV, but I am not one of them (although I haven't yet sat down with the 2021 director's cut, which I hear is a significant improvement). Also, did you recognize Apollo from "The Mandalorian"?

Glad you enjoyed it, Mary. I really love this series. Even the weaker sequels have a lot of heart in them. But like with Spider-Man, it might be good to spread them out. As much as I like them, they do get a little repetitive.

ROCKY II is arguably an even more emotionally impactful film. From every reaction I've seen to it, people reacted much more strongly to ROCKY II than they did to the first film... and they all LOVED the first film. So, the second movie at the very least is a definite must for the channel. Of course, the sequels aren't all perfect but they all have an emotional resonance to them because of the strong characters in this series. The last 3 films in the franchise have been praised by both critics and audiences and are very emotionally rewarding, which makes going through the entire saga totally worth it in the end.

resinmonkey .

No surprise to me that you understood Rocky is a love story, more than a boxing movie. Just for reference. https://www.rockystatue.com/

So glad that you enjoyed this one and are interested in seeing more. It's a journey worth undertaking. I've loved watching Cassie and Carly fall in love with Rocky and his story. So lovely that you highlight them in part as one of the factors in wanting to see what it's all about.

Rocky 1-4 tell a really good story arc all together. 5 is bad. The new Creed ones are good, but not as good as the originals.

If you liked this then I would recommend at some point checking out Cinderella Man. It is a true story about James Braddock (played by Russel Crowe) who was a boxer during the Great Depression. It is an incredible story considering it is true. There was definitely some inspiration here that was taken from Braddocks story. It is another boxing movie about so much more than boxing.

3 and 4 are the best ones. And then they take a nose dive after that

And then there are some of us who quite enjoy number 5 and the Rocky Balboa movie, They are all good in some way.

I will beat this drum again and again. Rocky 6 is a fan favorite. Excluding the Creed franchise, Rocky Balboa was the most acclaimed of the original sequels.

Rocky 2 is a must-and of the whole series is the one most girls really appreciate, it's a great sequel. Rocky 3 is a favorite among us guys as well as 4. I personally did not like 5 and think the series should have ended with Rocky Balboa (which was very well done) with 5 having never been made. I loved your reaction; it was great fun to watch this classic with you.

I’m very happy that you liked this movie and I hope you continue the series and see the character evolution and the relationship between Rocky and Adrian. I adore Cassie and Carly and enjoyed watching the entire series with them. They felt just like you beforehand and had no interest in the movie until Cassie’s Popcorn In Bed channel. Now they love Rocky. As you said, he’s such a good guy. I’m also glad that you picked up on the love story. Sylvester Stallone said that it’s not a boxing movie, but that he wrote a love story.
