Take care Mary and get well fast.

Get well soon, Mary. The death of Gwen Stacy is one of the most famous comic book stories. The story came out in the '70's, so the ending of this movie was not quite a shock to many comic book reading Spider-Man fans. They paid so many tributes to that story in this movie, from having Peter swing Gwen up to the top of the Bridge where Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) dropped Gwen in the comic book, to the coat Gwen was wearing in the movie being a duplicate to the one from the comic book. They even had Gwen's police captain die in the series before Gwen. Of course in the movie, if you think about it, Gwen's father did warn Peter to leave Gwen out of it, but in the movie Gwen insisted that it was her choice to be there. Heartbreaking movie, can't wait for you to see the next one. Take good care of yourself, I know you have some help.

I remember reading a list in Wizard Magazine of the most famous moments in comic book history, and Mary's seen two of them via the movies: the death of Gwen Stacy in this one, and then "I did it thirty-five minutes ago" from Watchmen.

This one rates as better than ASM1 for me because I think Garfield and Stone are both very good actors, and they bring a lot of wonderful teen-romance energy to this one. Garfield is especially good during Gwen's tragic death scene -- so much of the heartbreak stems from the skill of his performance, in my opinion. I also thought, regardless of whether Max is a comics-accurate portrayal of Electro, that they did a very good job of setting up his motivation, figuring out how he turns on Spider-Man, and weaving his arc together with that of Harry, particularly in the scene where Harry helps Electro escape from the institution. The scene was right after Gwen's death, but when the shadowy figure that met Lizard in the post-credit scene of ASM1 and then met Harry at the end of this one walks through the Oscorp lab to look at the Rhino suit, you can also see Doc Ock's mechanical arms, and a set of wings, which belong to The Vulture, who was of course the villain in the first Tom Holland Spider-Man movie. The movie was setting up a group of supervillains known in the Spider-Man comics as the Sinister Six. The musicians who did the Electro theme for the movie nicknamed themselves The Magnificent Six in the credits, as an homage to The Sinister Six and the classic Western The Magnificent Seven. I can't wait for you to see Spider-Man: No Way Home. I think you're going to be blown away.

I really like Andrew Garfield. I just think he suffered a bad script. He’s very likable.

I really hope you get to feeling better.... You've finally run the gauntlet of the Spider-Man films and only have one to go. This one was a rough one to get through. It's based on one of the most famous Spider-Man comics in history as others have pointed out. While this film does have some flaws, the acting is really what makes it. Glad you watched them all, and trust me, the trip was worth it. Really looking forward to your reaction for Spider-Man: No Way Home, it's a really special movie on multiple levels. Of course, wait until you feel better though. No rush. Great reaction as always and take care.

Most big-name Movies have this Problem. The Star Wars Sequels for example. The Cast was good but the Script was horrendous, its more complicated but you get it. Its the same here. Garfield is a good Actor and the Material should also be good but the Script wasnt, sadly.

You should watch October Sky, Mary. Its a good movie, I was reminded of it by Chris Cooper who briefly played Norman Osborne in this movie. Also I don't think you've had Jake Gyllenhaal on your channel yet. Oh and Laura Dern from Jurassic Park is in it too :)

Gwen Stacy dies in the comics. Peter Parker is with Gwen Stacy before meeting Mary Jane. I didn't know this till I became an adult. Growing up as a kid, it was always Peter Parker and MJ. First time hearing Gwen Stacy when I grew up. I had a girlfriend who died a year before Amazing Spider-Man 2 came out so watching Gwen Stacy's death was hard to watch. Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man was originally going to be added to the MCU before Tom Holland's Spider-Man. They were in talks for Amazing Spider-Man 3, but Andrew Garfield didn't show up for some Sony get together event. He instead went to visit his family and Sony fired him for that as Spider-Man. Causing the re-roboot. Sony ain't the best movie studio. Twice they interfered with a Spider-Man movies and made them the least favorite Spider-Man films Spider-Man 3 and Amazing Spider-Man 2. Sony is freeloading on a Marvel product they didn't create. My cousins and I even made jokes when we heard that Sony and Marvel made a deal to share Spider-Man into the MCU. We were like "so where was Peter Parker when the events of The Avengers was happening? Oh, he was in the basement helping his uncle Ben with the flood that the Aliens probably caused." 😆
