This was a great start to the season. I loved Rick’s quest to get back to his own universe and just how many times he couldn’t catch a break. I find it hilarious just how horrifying some of these universes can be like the multiple fascist universe and wasp universe the latter of which was absolutely disgusting yet so creative. I also loved how psychotic Morty got in the episode. The fact that he killed so many people and became so detached from reality just so he could have a future with Jessica is insane. He is one horny teenager. The fact that it was all for nothing is hilarious as though while it sucks for Morty, he definitely had it coming given his obsessive behavior throughout the episode. As small as their roles were in this episode, I really enjoyed the moments with Beth, Jerry and Summer, especially with how Jerry is standing up to Rick a lot more and seems to finally be getting more respect from Beth and the kids. Also, Summer attempting to kill Jerry just so she can get a cool selfie at a funeral is honestly so hilarious yet so dark and hands down one of my favorite gags from the show.

I don't know why but particular episode gave me a strange feeling and the episode somehow felt longer to me more like a 45 min episode and I even had to check the time halfway through the episode, maybe it's due to all the things they crammed into this amazing season opener but I'm not complaining this was a wild ride and I enjoyed it very much. Also Summer wanting to take a Hot selfie at her dads funeral was morbid but hilarious and Rick dying over and over to avoid fascist universes was ridiculously funny. But Morty's choice to become this psychopathic murderer was surprising to me because the crystal didn't showed anything other than Jessica repeating over and over "I love you Morty", and I'm glad we got that End credit scene with Jessica and it really did paint a picture to Morty and the audience that he will end up all alone after Rick is Dead, which is very Sad but until then he will have the time of his life. Can't wait for all the crazy adventures this season will bring.

Welcome to S4, or "Dan Harmon Has Had Enough of this Fandom." Having the "you're too political and meta, go back to how it was!" internet crybaby stand-in be an actual Nazi is a bit on the nose, but still hilarious... and accurate. A lot of the subtext this season is about writing and how hard it is to write this show in a way that appeals to us weirdo fans while still being original. I would say, overall, it's not as good as Season 3, but it's pretty dang close, and it does have at least one episode that's a serious contender for best of the series, right up there with 3x7.

Fun Fact: Fascist Morty is supposed to be a knock against the shows more toxic fans. Whining about getting too political and what type of adventures they have. He killed fascist Rick just so he could be in charge of the adventures. Knowing that makes the scene that much better in my opinion.
