Bits & Bobs (Patreon)

A couple drawing bits and bobs I figured would be more fun to share than let sit around in my files. Here we have:

1.) a test animation (wanted to experiment with wobbly lines) featuring a young and surly academic Mal

5.) comparing Perry’s thrift shop-assembled wedding outfit to Liv’s expensive big poofy 1980s wedding dress. Liv got married in a big fancy church, Perry got married in his backyard

6.) what Liv considers praiseworthy civility toward her son-in-law

7.) exploring Liv and her deceased bri’ish jackoff husband Felix (he’s also Perry’s dear old dead dad). My initial idea was that Felix was a charming and artistic closet case. Quite likeable on the outside, but a bitter misanthrope on the inside, yet also terrified of dying alone, so he more or less ensnared Olivia- a young, starry-eyed romantic deeply in love with his writing- into a marriage that slowly warps into something as hateful as it is codependent. I decided later that Felix’s design and personality need a bit more fiddling, but don’t worry, he’ll always be Liv’s begrudgingly tolerated worse half

Just in case it’s not clear, “ducks” was his pet name for Liv, and “ducky” was used for young Perry.
