I see both sides 100%, they want to communicate and trust each other (which is the bond that competes with Sam), but they are not able to see the other's perspective because it's not remotely possible. Angel and human experiences will never level out but I know both think they are going to lose each other if they don't talk the other down/out of planned courses of action and that's the rub. When Dean is asking him not to just "coz", it's almost testing Cas's faith in their bond since they are still mixed up in the drama of time apart versus Dean trying to control or belittle Cas. Then when Cas responds with "or what?" - I swear it looks like Dean is shattered because he was still in the shock of losing what he thought they were to each other. The threat looks like Dean had no idea that was coming so he starts to spin out emotionally...so welcome back WALLS! But Castiel reminding Dean that he was just a human and cannot stop an angel, that is the classic Dean Winchester defense mechanism and breaking ties with harsh insults.

I looooove this episode but it was heartbreaking to watch at the same time. The sheer pain on Dean’s face when he realized Cas betrayed him. Omg. 😢😢 Yet I can also see Cas’s side of things—how he truly believes he is doing the right thing and that this is his only option. And I’m sorry but its a little hypocritical of the boys to jump all over Cas for working with Crowley without really hearing him out about why he’s doing it.. considering the boys worked with Crowley in the not so distant past when they were out of options. I loved seeing all of this from Cas’s perspective—such a strong episode imho. (And yes, I totally ship Destiel too.💙💚)
