When you said not as bad as Rumple's Dad, I both agree and disagree. While Pan stayed a terrible person after abandoning Rumple for power and youth, he at least left Rumple in a safe place with people who took care of him and loved him. Whereas Brennan (Killian and Liam's Dad) literally sold his sons into Servitude in order to escape the law, he didn't leave them somewhere safe, he knowingly left them to suffer. It was mentioned back in 2x22 that Hook's Dad abandoned him though, he told Baelfire as such when teaching him to sail. But we didn't get the details until this episode, and it's heartbreaking. But yeah, he had planned to get Brennan and his kid to safety and let them live happily and all that, but hearing Brennan repeat what he'd told Killian the same night he abandoned him, and then learning he named the kid Liam, that just sent him over the edge and he couldn't do it anymore. I feel for the kid though... He didn't do anything wrong, his only crime was being the son of a man who sold his other two kids... And that's why Killian is so ashamed of it, because not only did he murder his Father, he left an innocent boy an Orphan. :(
