Welcome back to Swift Guitar Lessons for another blues-rock lead tutorial. Every once in a while a musician stumbles upon a simple trick that significantly enhances their playing. For me, discovering how to use the major third interval in conjunction with my go-to pentatonic licks was one such event. So, in today's session I'll break down how to locate the major 3rd across three octaves, and provide guidance on how to get that iconic major blues sound. Let's get started!

Amazing lesson thanks - but how to you find the major 3rd in other keys (ie Am) where there are no flat notes?? I hope that's not a dumb question! (Update - I think I've found it. It's just the second note in pattern 1, raised by a semitone, I hope)!
