Good evening!

As you can see from the audio test above, the room has finished acoustic treatment completely. While the back of the room is still a slight mess that needs organizing, the important part is the front end is ready to go.

The desk, chair, second monitor, new large mousepad, and all the other goodies came over the week. Luckily the IKEA ALEX drawers were a breeze to set up, and didn't have any missing parts like some had warned me was possible. While I'll start getting the other side of the room cleaned up over the next while (no walk around yet), the parts that are essential to video making are in full swing and I'm completely back to work now.

Originally, my plan was to do a video on Darkest Dungeon which I had been recording footage of even before the move. There have been two major drawbacks to this. For starters, the monitor I ended up going with was a 1440p one, which means that combined with my ridiculously faster new upload speeds I should start uploading the videos in 1440p as well. Besides just being a higher resolution, YouTube also ups the allowed bitrate on the usual 1080p which could prevent some darker videos from looking "muddy" like the ocean did in the Sunless Sea video. The footage I did have recorded for Darkest Dungeon was in 1080p, which meant that I could just simply continue recording the game in 1080p still without restarting. I could also just say to hell with it and start recording in 1440, some scenes might just look slightly fuzzier.

However, the second major drawback was in mid-August the game got a massive update out of nowhere. It fixed several issues I had particularly with the Crimson Court DLC, adjusted a lot of stats balance wise, and made other sweeping changes and fixed bugs that I had taken recording snippets of. Now it had become an issue of "what bug I recorded has been fixed? What's been changed? That UI element is new, what should I do?"

While I didn't have a ton of footage recorded, I was hoping to have a head start on what would be a longer process, and the easiest thing to do will to be starting over with that one at some point. This kind of thing is why I like making videos on older games since they rarely get surprise patches. In the meantime, I've decided to move forward with a different dungeon crawling game that's been frequently requested: Arx Fatalis.

It was made by Arkane Studios before Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, and the video should come out a week or so before the year anniversary of the video I made for Dark Messiah so that seems fitting! I'll also be introducing the Arx Libertatis mod to viewers, which is essentially a mod that fixes bugs and makes the game run better on modern systems. The Darkest Dungeon video is still something I'd like to make, but I want to get back into making something and Arx will definitely be a shorter project.

Thanks for waiting so long! I'm back at it.

OMG the sound mufflers are not aligned and I see gaps. What is this? Did you put them up drunk? =D. Glad to see you are back at it and take your time for I would want to see something amazing instead of great.

Holy shit I'm so glad you're doing a Arx video. I played like 2 hours of it then dropped it but you always have a way of getting me to finish a game completely
