Whenever I have to write a song, I tend to just spackle some nonsense into a microphone until I accidentally stumble on something that sounds good. This time I happened to record it, so here's an audio file where you can hear Countdown slowly coming together!

It's neat to see just how different each iteration of the song is as you work through it. I gather your song writing process is basically "throw stuff at a wall until something, no matter how small, sticks, and then build around that", which definitely inspires me to try similar tactics when getting creators-block myself. It's a tactic I've heard before, but being able to see it in action really makes a difference for understanding it. Thanks.

Yeah that's 100% how I write songs. I can't compose melodies so I have to work entirely on lyric patterns and then hand off what I come up with to a composer.
