I tried watching Street Woman Fighter and couldn't get past 30 secs which you see LOOOOL

If it helps, most of the drama in the SWF/SMF series is manufactured. Especially when you look at how all the crews interact after the show is over. Mnet being evil as usual. Honestly, I think SWF1 is probably the least manufactured feeling (besides the drama) because Mnet didn't know it would be such a huge success and wasn't as proactive at digging their greedy claws in as the future shows. There's a real sort of determination in SWF1, it's the show that caused more average people to start respecting backup dancers in South Korea and caused more people to consider it a viable career choice. For SWF2 a lot of the drama comes from the tension of having international crews there (also Mina and Lia), but I feel like most of the drama I've seen has been from fans of the show moreso than the girls themselves (Jam Republic ended up making a public statement asking their fans to be respectful to the other groups, which really sucks cause Jam Republic is a really chill group). For SMF, I honestly don't remember as much about so I can't help you there, all I remember for drama is Ingyoo being a shitstarter and the Ateez vs Vata plagiarism accusations (which honestly I'm still not completely sure who is in the right with that one).

I think I just preferred SMF because some of the crews were actual street dancers (the leader of the Krump crew is Lays teacher) so the battle scenes had SOO much energy and charisma!? SWF tends to be a bit unbalanced towards choreographers for me

nah you have to watch street man fighter ! that's the one that had everyone absolutely on their toes. they had CRAZY legends from dance crews that won awards and things across the globe ( not saying swf didn't !) but they had such notable legends . there was way more character and charisma in the battles, it was so good. street woman fighter was so so cringe. 😭 i would love to see you watch smf !

yes same here. and i honestly felt that in swf there was that one crew lachica? that was trying way too hard to be smth they are not. LMAO it had me so cringed out. smf had so many legendary battles, that actually had you so hyped for more.

If you watch SMF brace yourself for the first 2 episodes. There is a crew that is mostly gay (Some members are out, some are not. You may recognize a few of them from working with NewJeans and a bunch of KPop divas). The MNET producers had the crews crank up the homophobia to 11. There's a point later when it gets called out so it kinda "paid off". The gag is many of them are friends off-screen so it was manufactured for cameras. Overall, it was a fairly fun show and some cool battles.
