It's You & Youth are at the end, nearly missed them lol.

So this isn't my favourite ATEEZ album which is CRAZY cos on Discord ya'll are EATING it up. I DEFINITELY prefer the second half and I think it's good they kinda manage to give a variety of sounds whilst still remaining true to their sound but I do feel like auto-tune and distortion on the vocals has GOTSSS tah-go or AT LEAST be more of a selective choice as opposed to, all the time besides like one or two songs lol.

Either way my Atiny hat is sitting pretty cos I do enjoy Clear form a lot!

Enjoy!

YES! I agree with what you said about the way We Know sounds so familiar. I kept feeling like we were back in Guerilla era with a lot of this album. That's not necessarily bad, because I liked that album, but after the groundbreaking release they came out with last comeback, this left me a little.....disappointed is too strong of a word....It left me wanting.

Michele Wang

MATZ had me losing my mind, tho. I wonder if whoever trained Minjae has been working with Hongjoong since Xikers debuted, because both this comeback and last have featured unexpected speed raps from Hongjoong.

Michele Wang

The way the album ended, and the ending of the MV for Crazy Form give me hope that we're moving on to a different part of the lore, and maybe we might be moving away from this sound, too.

I loved this album so much and I think it's amazing but I think it has some room to grow for me for sure! Off the first listen I loved something about every song but Silver Light is my favorite B-side with It's You being my favorite unit track. I can't county Crazy Form bc it's not fair lmao but I am completely obsessed with it. I think after a month I will know my true ranking and who knows, It may end up being one of my fave Ateez albums later. I agree with everything you said during the MV, ATEEZ has the star power and charisma that is just totally unmatched. If anyone else tried to do their music they would look and sound silly. I think the reason why I can enjoy their sound even when they do a complete 180 is because of their confidence and execution. There is so much intention and commitment/care behind every single project ATEEZ does, not just with the members but their main producing team, and the company truly cares for their artistic growth. They grow together and challenge each other musically and it always pays off in the end. It all of course comes down to a matter of preference in the end but it is so great to stan a group where you can see and hear the quality constantly. They never half-ass anything and that's why I always can listen with confidence. Thank You for the reaction

Honjoong has done rapid-fire raps before these last two albums., the intensity is what's a bit different. He always changes up his cadence, his flow, and his tone. He also wrote and produced on every song for both of Xikers albums, while also singing the guides to some of them too lol I think it's just that KQ blood.

Michele Wang

My favorite thing about Crazy Form is how it harkens back to KQ's sound in the wide-frame breakdown at the end. In 2012, before they were even signed to Seven Seasons Management (now KQ entertainment) BlockB, Ateez's older brother group, released a song called Nilili Mambo, and it featured a breakdown almost identical to that. Ateez covers a lot of BlockB's hits during concerts or other stage performances, and it's Very Very Good. XD I'll link Nilili Mambo here if you want to listen to it. It's the reason Zico was my ult bias for years, so I'm a little biased, but I would say it's definitely worth the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AYJZvHeKFo

Fun fact about “Dreamy Day”, the melody was first released and given by Hongjoong for his brother’s vlogs, few months ago. And I think, I hope I’m not saying something wrong, but this is HONGJOONG’s style we listened to it with his special song for his birthday “A walker” and when I listened to it I really thought it was a xikers song like like “Sunny side”, which I suppose, after listening to this song, is where HJ worked the most for them.

I love watching your reactions because even if you don’t like something you say like what you would change. And when you talk about vocals and choreography I learn new things, so thank you for the reactions.

Hongjoong has never been a slow rapper or a mumble rapper by any means, but none of his lines has been quite as fast as MATZ or Wake Up. He's elevating these days. Jongho has been taking lessons again these days, too, and that really shows. I'm super excited to see where they go next.

Michele Wang

Yessss! Silver Light is my favorite B-side, too. I've a soft spot for 80s synth pop.

Kiara

Me too! They now have a trio that has the iconic 80's synth and vibes, Take Me Home, Cyberpunk, and now Silver Light! They're sisters to me haha

2023-12-23 09:02:23 This is why I love watching your videos. I loved this album. I didn’t like this as much as the Guerrilla era album, but loved it more than the last one by far. But I am not an artist, I don’t have a music background. I am what I would call a casual consumer. Pretty easily pleased in all honesty. I just listen to what is pleasing to my ear and this and Guerrilla era is exactly my taste. But listening to your comments at the start literally had me like “Man he is right.” Specifically when you were talking about how you wanted their voices forward. I am overall not a fan of auto tune, but you described exactly what would have made the album a wow for me. I loved the beat and production (I think a lot of the static goes away when you listen on headphones) but the distortion I agree is too much. Thanks for articulating that for me haha. I know you aren’t a rap fan, but HJ was really impressive this album. He changed up his rap flow and style quite a bit actually. So while the structure of Mingi/Hongjoong back to back is similar, the style is actually quite different. Emergency and Matz were immediate adds to the gym playlist. I loved the Crazy Form MV. They changed up the director. I guess this one is same one as Le Sserafims Unforgiven/Antifragile and it was perfect for the vibe of the MV. You can always count on Ateez for harmonization and adlibs. Silver Light I think was my fav on this album (either it or Emergency). This is part of “The World” Era (Hence it being The World EP FIN). The sound is very cohesive imo across the three albums. Unless there is an Epilogue, I would expect a different sound from them next album. I am super excited to see what they do next. Hongjoong has definitely mentioned wanting to try different styles (although he did mention country which has me a bit scared.) On my knees begging for San, Seonghwa or Yunho to be on Lee Mujin. Also...San R&B Era...knowing that Kai is one of his role models...it would be a sight to hear and see haha Thanks for the video as always!

Sarah, thank you so much for this!! It means a lot when someone who loves something I don't can still get where I'm coming from, I admire it so much. Very glad you agreed with my points! Yes the rap parts definitely went over my head, that'll always be my blind spot unfortunately but I noticed Mingi sounding different. Yess the sound is very cohesive I agree! HAHA ohh country ... hmm. I'm very much looking forward to a change and I'm glad he feels the same way also. YES WE NEED San on Mujin Service! Thanks again for this comment!

I didn’t like this album as much as the guerrilla era but I did like that there were a few standouts for me. I do see where you’re coming from with some of the songs. They definitely feel like we’ve been there done that type of vibe.
