I'm very glad they did this because I got to hear more from members I'd underestimated and got to see where exactly I stand with our main vocal Sohee.

I hear the potential but if he wants to sustain a healthy relationship with those high notes I'd recommend he carries on training and refining his techniques to properly support those top notes so they don't come out so pinched. His issues remind me of my worries for ZB1's Taerae. They definitely know their voices well but need to grow and develop to find that optimal balance to avoid injury!

Eunseok, Wonbin and Anton especially were stand outs that I was not expecting at all. I PRAY SM focuses on their vocals more and develops their sound and individual styles. I'm happy to hear Wonbin sings in his own unique way which feels natural and not forced.

Enjoy!

I know this release was a while ago but I was hoping you could react to Party O' Clock by NMIXX itslive.

I think Seunghan will be able to do the high notes so Sohee doesn’t have to do them all cuz he can apparently hit C6 and B6 during trainee days but he has an fear of messing up high notes. This is a short of a known SM vocal teacher talking about this fear with him. https://youtube.com/shorts/cC8A3bB-Gy4?si=VEBDvciC5BkshnOA

I really see the potential in them! I feel like if SM continues to train their vocals, they could really stand out amongst other kpop artists.

I feel like seunghan will be the helper for sohee

i agree with every word you said, for an SM group i expected 2 main vocals and like sohee is great but as u said that tension is clearly there but he and the other boys have a lot of potential so i believe he'll learn how to support properly, also love their live singing skills thats very SM of them, can we talk about how of an all rounder and PERFORMER wonbin is tho?? with THAT face?? crazy

I have been wondering why Seunghan’s vocals hadn’t been showcased yet. Maybe he hasn’t gotten over his fear yet or we will hear more in Riize’s next single. I figured he had to be a strong vocalist if DO is his role model and really loves Doyoung’s voice.

sohee's voice gives me renjun pretty light voice vibes with a slightly more nasaly sound. like it feels like he needs a haechan or chenle kind of voice to round off the vocal sound, a slightly fuller voice, but the potential seems to be there so, we'll see.

Pls pls react to BoyNextDoor 'But Sometimes'. They just had their 1st comeback and it's awesome. Their vocals are such a standout for me in 5th gen, and if you like Riize I feel you'd love them.

Since Seunghan was introduced in NCT Universe, I've been looking forward to hearing his voice more. Like there was a snippet on that show where Doyoung and Jungwoo kind of pressured him into singing even though he was really shy and I immediately loved his tone. So other than Sungchan and Shotaro finally debuting, after the group announcement I've been anticipating what he would sound like in full songs and how his tone would shine within the group. He's also a really good dancer which I expected because he mentioned he had a background in dance in that show, but because he was promoted more as a vocalist I did not see him being promoted as one of the main dancers with Shotaro and Wonbin coming until they posted their first dance video. So Seunghan is probably my bias now along with Sungchan. I really like Sohee too because he has a pretty voice to me and I love people with pretty and light sounding voices. He's adorable like he's my age, same month same year and everything yet this man gives me the urge to put him in my pocket; even though I usually don't feel that strongly about most male idols lol

Yeah I agree with everything you mentioned about their vocals. I'm personally loving Anton voice. Seunghan voice remind me a bit of Kim Ji-woong. It's different and stands out when he sings. I see the potential in this group for sure!!!!

Nice analysis!! Fun fact this was done in one take too, I think they’re the only fifth gen group to have done this in one take, the last one was aespa!

My two favourite voices just don't get enough lines here to show their strengths - Seunghan and Eunseok. They both have gorgeous tones (I am a sucker for a unique tone), I hope we get to see it more in the future!

Watching this a second time because this stage is just so fun and such a pleasure to watch. Loved seeing all the interactions between them and everyone felt like they were so relaxed and just enjoying the stage. Your analysis is on point! Love hearing your commentary on the techniques used, I’m learning a lot! Pleasantly surprised by how pretty everyone’s tone is in this group. This doesn’t feel like a typical sm group as vocal abilities seems to be more evenly spread out amongst most members? And it’s not strictly split into dance line and vocal line as even the main dancer can sing really well and vice versa. at this stage it just feels like all of them has SO MUCH potential and hidden skills that we’ve yet to discover. Thanks so much for the reaction !

loved watching this again with you! im curious if youve seen sohees predebut covers on youtube?

yuta

wonbins vocal tone is so similar to haechans he definitely has potential

Sohee sound more soft in riize songs than his pre debut covers, his cover of I Can Only Say I Want to Die by Huh Gak is the best i've heard of him, and that was like 2 or 3 years ago, i recommend you lisen to that cover if your curios about how he sound in ballads if you havent already
