July 2022 Sketches 9 - Cyrus (Octopath Traveler) (Patreon)

Here's a picture featuring Cyrus from Octopath Traveler. The idea was suggested by Sieg.

"Cyrus from Octopath Traveler: After the journey of the eight travelers, Cyrus still had some loose ends to tie up with the academy. His first stop being the restricted section of the library, looking for any dangerous books left by the previous headmaster. Stumbling upon a strange book, he removed it from the stacks to examine its contents. Before he could react, the book shot out a beam of magic, striking him in the chest. Feeling no negative changes, he decided he would deal with the effects later and continued checking the stacks of books. However, as he was checking the books, he was unaware of the changes in his body, being completely absorbed in his search. The beam that had struck him had an interesting effect, the more knowledge the person gained, the more powerful they would become. So, as he continued reading the pages of the books he checked, the larger he became, quickly running out of room in the restricted section of the library. It was only then that he realized his size, but he didn't stop reading. Instead he continued, suddenly gaining a lust for the knowledge and power that was now coursing through his body. His thirst for knowledge quickly led him to grow out of the library."

I think you did a really good job with the story! So here's Cyrus enjoying a nice read, knowing quite well what the knowledge is doing to his body, filling up more and more of the library. While the local librarian attempts to put a stop to all the ruckus...only to find himself powerless against the growing threat.
