One More Thing: Marching Citadel (Patreon)

Greetings adventurers!

Wandering across the lands searching for whatever their masters command, these mysterious behemoths have a single goal in mind. Little is known about the inhabitants of the towers upon their back or what they may be searching for. I guess that's up to an enterprising dungeon master to decide what could possibly lie within. These are something I've wanted to cook up for awhile. I love the idea of mysteries that players can't understand in the lower levels that they could perhaps take on once they get a bit bigger in their adventuring careers. I fully admit to just wanting to plop one of these guys roaming the countryside for a low level party to come across and being awed by only to realize they have no hope of taking it on in the process. Maybe once they are more established, there's something they could do.

The inhabitants themselves are left to be a mystery here and I hope that people's imaginations could be set free to come up with whatever they might want that could be inside these towers. I certainly have ideas of wizards and other powerful magic users, but there's so many options you could put there. I love that kind of "mystery box" feeling. 

A lot of the mechanics are centered around how big and earth shaking these constructs are. If you get knocked prone by one of these, you're certainly in for a bad time. I mentioned that I love giving creatures a gimmick and this one is all about controlling mobility due to its shear scale. Oh, it's also about crushing people sometimes. 

The addition of them being able to rest and appear as a simple castle on rocky terrain was a bit of a late add for me. I wanted to give that element of surprise when people are walking toward a tower then suddenly it rises 20+ feet in front of you and walks off.
