Greetings adventurers!

Certain dark underbellies of this world are ones I’d rather not delve into if it were not my job. The dirty business of blood money is one of them, but I will say they do come up with some interesting tools. When one of my associates brought this in complaining that a diner had left it stuck under a table, I knew I had my hands on quite the rare piece. I also knew I should tell him to watch his back for the time being.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

Design notes from Matthew:

Alright so the classic poison dagger is something that has been done a lot, but I pride myself on being able to bring new spins on things and I think we were able to accomplish it here. One of the cores of this is that I wanted the potential of this thing to be a truly secret blade, something that people wouldn’t notice until the perpetrator was long gone. To do that I needed to take a lot of balance points into consideration including multiple rolls. It shouldn’t be a gimme to pull off something this dangerous.

An interesting note about 5E is that while they do have a number of poisons, I don’t find many of them to be particularly well fleshed out. They usually just do a bit of damage or exhaust the target a bit and that’s that. With this, I wanted to make it obvious that this would be deadly if not taken care of over time. Now with the right practitioner of medicine around, it can be stopped (by design), but I needed to create a deadlier poison than what’s presented in official materials, thus the sustained damage.

As for the PF2E version, well there are a lot of really interesting and well designed poisons within the system already. That meant I had a bit more flexibility on how to write this piece to allow it to include multiple types of poison. Want to just put someone down for a bit? You can. Want to kill? You can. Additionally, for the PF2E version I was able to weave in some thievery checks which should hopefully make it a bit more dialed in for roguish characters.

Our new month of content is already well on its way, and I think this method of ideating together that Fernando and I adopted for these two months has really produced some high quality content. I’m hoping it’s something we can do again soon.

We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
