Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Today I have a supporter exclusive video for you in which I'll give you a quick rundown of my emerging Daz Hair to Unreal Engine workflow. It involves exporting hair from Daz Studio into Blender (either card or strand-based hair works), saving it out as Alembic with a few special settings, and turning it into Unreal Engine Groom Hair. This then has a nice native hair shader and real-time physics.

For the final release I'll demonstrate this with Blender 4.1 or later, and hopefully I'll have worked out how to use textures by then. I wanted to give you all (and Chevybabe) a quick preview of the workflow and had some spare time yesterday evening, so it was a nice rehearsal for me. Enjoy!

In other news, that Humanify video went live last night and sort of blew up on YouTube. Usually my videos don't attract all that much attention during release week, but this one got over 2.000 views in just 12 hours, which is a lot for me and took me by surprise. I didn't think there were that many people interested in slapping a generic skin shader on a Genesis figure.

And in totally unrelated news, it was my birthday on Friday! I've been celebrating with a three day weekend and some quality time on the couch. I'll see if I can fit in some more time for making thumbnails and new videos though (no promises though).

Have a fantastic week and stay creative!
