1,ラフ　sketch

今回はポートレート風の構図です。

1シーンの切り取りではなくデザイン的な構成をイメージしていたので、下部は余白を残しています。

沢山のひまわりはそれぞれ大きさや角度に変化をつけることを意識しました。

This time, the composition is portrait style.

I imagined a design composition rather than a cutout of a scene, so I left a blank space at the bottom.

I was conscious of varying the size and angle of each of the many sunflowers.

2,線画・下塗り　line drawing and base color

花を描くとき、軽くアタリを作成しておくと描きやすくなります。

斜めを向いているような場合、左右の幅に変化をつけます。

また、自然物のため、アタリにぴったりと沿っていると整然としすぎていて不自然に見えます。

なので、アタリからはみ出したり、アタリよりも大分小さい花びらを作ります。

今回のひまわりのように沢山あるモチーフは、一つ描いてそれをコピー＆ペーストをするのが効率的ですが、複製しすぎると違和感があるため一部のみ描き変えます。

花びらの大きさや並びを変更すると、いかにも複製した感を抑えることができます。

When drawing a flower, create a light auxiliary line to make it easier to draw.

If it looks as if it is facing diagonally, vary the width from left to right.

Also, because they are natural objects, if they follow the auxiliary lines exactly, they look too neat and unnatural.

Therefore, make petals that extend beyond the auxiliary line or are much smaller than it.

For a motif with many petals, such as the sunflower in this case, it is more efficient to draw one petal and copy and paste it, but if you duplicate it too much, it will not look right, so only some of the petals should be changed after copy and paste.

Changing the size and arrangement of the petals can reduce the feeling of being duplicated.

3,着彩　coloring

時間帯は夕方、強い夕日の光が差し込んでいる設定のため、強めのコントラストを意識しました。

色合いも暖色系強めです。

The time of day is evening, and the setting has strong sunset light, so I was conscious of strong contrast.

The colors are also strongly warm-toned.

同じモチーフが連なっている場合、描写に強弱や変化をつける必要があります。

描写を変化させることで視線誘導にも繋がります。

上の画像のように、一部のひまわりのみ描き込みを増やし、キャラクターの顔を通過するような視線誘導を作成しました。

目立たせたくないひまわりは彩度を下げたり、描き込みを抑えています。

また、この絵で一番目立たせたいものはキャラクターのため、ひまわりの角度はキャラクターに向くようにしました。

When the same motifs are linked together, there is a need to add intensity and variation to the depiction.

Varying the depiction can also help guide the viewer's gaze.

As shown in the image above, only some of the sunflowers are drawn in more, creating a guiding line of sight that passes through the character's face.

Sunflowers that we do not want to stand out are depicted with less saturation and less detail.

The sunflowers are angled to face the character since the character is what I want to stand out the most in this picture.

4,仕上げ　finishing

加工方法はいつも通りのため、説明は省略します。

今回は仕上げ時に修正が多かったです。

As the processing method is the same as usual, the explanation is omitted.

This time, there were many corrections during finishing.

顔の印象が自分のイメージしていたものと違っていたため、修正しました。

ハイライトの大きさや位置でキャラクターの印象が随分と変わります。

ハイライトを大きめに描くと、活発的で明るい印象になり、逆に小さく描くと、クールで大人しい印象になります。

今回はクールで鋭い印象にしたかったため、ハイライトは小さめにしました。

顔の他に傘の大きさも修正しました。

人体と比べて大きすぎるように思えたので、小さくしました。

そのため、キャンバスサイズが初期サイズと異なっています。

仕上げに差し掛かる程、修正を面倒に感じますが、少しでも違和感があれば直します。

一見小さい違和感でも積み重なっていくと、イラスト全体のクオリティに影響してしまうためです。

The impression of the face was different from what I had imagined, so I corrected it.

The size and position of the highlights can change the impression of a character considerably.

If the highlight is large, the character will look lively and bright, while if it is small, the character will look cool and calm.

In this case, I wanted to create a cool and sharp impression, so I kept the highlights small.

In addition to the face, the size of the umbrella was also modified.

It seemed too large compared to the human body, so we made it smaller.

Therefore, the canvas size is different from the initial size.

The more I get closer to the finishing touches, the more I find it troublesome to make corrections, but if there is even the slightest discrepancy, I will fix it.

This is because even seemingly small discrepancies can affect the overall quality of the work if they accumulate.
