Back when i was on Eka Portal i started a project to create a collector card series inspired by 1960s trading cards mars Attacks and Dinosaurs Attacks, full of the voring of boys.

Some times i think that some of my own 'peril' work is an evolution of these old cards. Starting in the 1930s, cards were produced to share 'The horrors of war' depicting horrible deaths, and were very popular amongst children.

The set became so popular that Gum Inc. decided to add an additional 48 cards depicting the violence in Germany and the start of World War II.

Mars Attacks

Jump to the 1960s and we get Mars Attacks trading cards which loosely told a story over it's series of cards. The cards proved popular with children, but depictions of explicit gore and implied sexual content caused an outcry (spoilsports).

Mars Attacks enjoyed expansion into a movie, reboot card series and comic books, the covers of which by Earl Noram have been an inspiration.

Dinosaurs Attack

So then we get to the 80s and Dinosaurs Attacks is released. Obviously inspired by Mars Attacks, Dinosaurs was a homage to 1950s B-Movies and told a story across it's set about Dinosaurs accidently being teleported through time to present day. I rememebr this set mostly for one card in particular 'Homeroom Horror'.

Forrest Attacks

Inspired by these old trading cards i thought it would be fun to do my own series inspired by Mars Attacks and Dinosaurs Attack. I planned to do 22 cards in the set telling the story of two brothers out camping when a passing comet turns nature against humans. The front of the cards would show in expected gory, pervy detail key events, while the back of the cards would give extra insite into the story and characters.

On Eka Portal i had set it up so fans could sponsor the ceation of each card choosing from a list. When Eka banned me for trying to work around their rules on posting art, the Forrest Attacks project was halted. I plan to start the project up again and complete the card set exclusivly for my Fanbox Fans. Hopefully with a new card each month (if i can), and perhaps supply the files in order to print them out.

Expect the first cards to be posted to Fanbox before the end of June.

I remember this project! Glad to see you're thinking about bringing it back.

I remember them, too. I think I have one or two of them - some Boy Scouts getting eaten by snakes, and one or two more gobbled up by a huge mutant boar. I never saw the squirrel one, though. Will a non-censored one be put up?

Never knew these cards existed, I missed so much. I can clearly see their inspiration in your work.

I had no idea. Thank you for sharing!
