We love our leaders though and I for one was super proud when my bias got announced as one šŸ„°!

I actually love when the person who would more traditionally be the leader is either aware that they wouldn't be the best fit or just don't want to do it and opt to just support the group's chosen leader. &Team and Enhypen both did this and I think it's a very smart move. The leader will have to make judgement calls that aren't popular without being ostracized for it, and say things the members don't necessarily want to hear in a way that they'll still listen to, and the person who can do those things best is the one with the best emotional intelligence and trust from their members. Often that person isn't necessarily the oldest or most experience or most skilled. I think it's beneficial to then have the oldest/ace/etc be a sort of backup, the person that members go to when they're not happy w/ the leader who will reassure them while backing up the leader's decisions, as well as a source of comfort when they don't want to burden the leader. Idols like K and Heesung and Jiwoong do that really well.

I 100% agree! Knowing HYBE, I myself wasn't expecting K to be the leader at all since HYBE tends to want to keep that pressure from them as they're also the eldest. As an Engene I knew how Jungwon was as a leader and then also Soobin as TXT so automatically I was like, hmm I feel like EJ can be the leader. Especially as you watch him in the show. While he can be quiet sometimes, you can see him leading and supporting from the back, very much like how I saw Jungwon and Soobin. So I was really happy when he announced that he was the leader. For K, I'm really happy for him where he's at because I feel like not having that pressure of being the hyung AND the leader really allows him to be his happy and free self. So I really really appreciate HYBEs unofficial rule with leaders ā¤ļø

Yeah haha for sure it can be a little sad. But I also think this chant was something they all ended up doing together even when they were still filming. The show itself was about them becoming "one" team and I think they really liked the chant because of that. Now, when they say "go wan" it's not just a reference to the werewolf aspect of themselves, but also to them as a group. "Together, as one, let's do our best". And I do think as well that those who didn't make it into the group support them and cheer them on in this way as well, hopefully smiling at the memory of it.

They're all young and Yejun is the same age, but my God! Minhyung is pushing my protective instincts into overdrive. Even when he's in the background and not part of the narrative, I keep checking on him to make sure, he doesn't look sad or like he's doubting himself. How are these judges even able to give him any critical feedback. Look at his face! He could have NO talent, and I'd still offer him a contract.

The people you were comparing K to are like the Hybe it boys, Heesung and Yeonjun, but might I make a comparison. I feel like the way you guys talk about K is very much like the way you guys talk about Jay Chang. They both have a skill that they are just so ELITE at (K's. dance and Jay's vocals), and with that combined with their stage presence and facial expressions makes them stand out over anyone in any performance. After a performance of Jay or K, you can't not talk about how they are just amazing and the perfect idol. Also, even if they're not your respective biases in their respective groups, they're like the default hidden bias. They're just there. ALSO, they're not just similar in how they perform, they're also SO similar in their passion for performing. They both just genuinely love to do what they do, and it shows in how hard they work. And lastly, they are just so similar, coincidentally, in how the survival shows happened to treat them. It's actually crazy.... Both of their first survival shows were the traumatizing ones. During I-land and Boys Planet, K and Jay had rumors circulating about them which made the general population hate them, and halfway through, the shows did them dirty by either trying to make them look bad (K) or giving them no screen time (Jay). Despite being an Ace of the show, because of this, they ended up being one spot away from debuting (K took 8th place and Jay took 10th). However, they both came back on a second survival show, healed their trauma, and made their debut from that one. On &Audition and Build Up, K and Jay were the clear Aces, for the clear P01s one may say. They breezed through these shows because their talent naturally stood out, and the show and its editing were nice and peaceful with them, and with all of the contestants, truly.
