Hello wonderful readers!!
I'd like to start by welcoming all the new people that have been signing up these past couple months. Thank you so much for the interest and support. I hope you've been finding the archive of TF tales entertaining. >^.^<
And no, this title is not a lie! After working overtime trying to buy a home in a failing amurrican market (and losing), then suffering a stroke and its painful/expensive recovery, I'm finally digging myself out of the backlog hole that 2021 put me in. Can't believe it's already been a year. I still can't type like I used to with my right arm, but at least I've managed to keep things consistent and fun. I'll never be able to thank you all for the support during one of the roughest periods of my life so far. <3
Now, there's only two jobs left in my current backlog that I hope to have finished by the end of the month. But since rent is that annoying thing that never stops and got jacked up $500 this year, the need to keep new work flowing in is immediate. In order to help prevent falling into another slow crawling hole I've decided to try adapting a new system I've noticed one of my furry colleges using that I really like.
I'll go into more detail with the announcement post, but the general idea is that September will open with a 'word bank.' This is the total word count I know I can reasonably do within a month after keeping logs of my workflow this year. Anyone can buy these words at a rate of $24/1000 words to a hard cap of 6000 words. Who gets picked and how many will be heavily influenced by how fast the word bank empties.
My main goals with this system are to take jobs more often, finish them faster, and keep things simple and streamlined. I'm sorry for anyone that may have been hoping for longer based works with such hard caps. The sad truth is I still owe a number of close friends literal novels worth of stuff, and they deserve the same passionate care I'd give to any large scale projects after all their years of support. By taking smaller jobs to keep the lights on, I can finish my obligations to them at the same time.
As a final note, these first rounds of new commissions will only be open to patrons at this time. I'd like to give supporters that have been waiting for this their opportunities and to abuse their discount rewards. Other openings will occur on Furaffinity and Twitter in the near future, however.
Thanks for reading. Any feedback or thoughts are always welcome. I hope you are are having a great summer so far. :B
