When making a visual novel, or really any multimedia project, there's a lot of parts to assemble. Drawings, music, code, etc.

But each of those individual thing need their own attention through design, composition, and workflow.

I finally have all these pieces working together for the completion of the very first scene. This means it's entirely playable and close to a contender for "final" (which it won't be, needs polish but it's close!)

What I need to finish is mainly one more character and a handful of backgrounds (which have an expedited process now). All the coding works, the animations are looking nice, and two characters are living on the screen!

I will also be taking these successes and moving to Scene 2 and have a lot of the parts already done! The more scenes I get done, the faster the process will go.

Then, it's a matter of finishing the writing which largely just needs doing, with an editing pass or two to seal it together. Then beta readers (you guys!) and when all looks good, start the marketing and process towards release.

There is light at the end of this tunnel...! I can smell the clear air on the other side. But the walk is still long and dark. We're nearly there.

Thank you, Dani! I'm hoping to put out a playable demo soon. Who knows how long "soon" is but it's definitely sooner than whatever "later" is!
