I was mostly unimpressed with a lot of the designs that went into a lot of the other teams from the other universes in the ToP and most of them were pretty much forgettable, with the only exceptions being obviously Universe 11 since they all wore the exact same uniform (which was smart both in terms of writing and conveying their universe), Universe 7, and Universe 6.

Since my Golden Age timeline follows the general plot of DBZ to a certain extent with a few exceptions, when the story gets to the Tournament of Power Arc (as you've all probably seen here- https://www.patreon.com/posts/51113368 ) we're introduced to an entirely new team and a new underlying plot.

The history behind this group is simple.

After everyone in Universe 7 finds out that six other universes had been erased prior to the Tournament by Zeno (as noted in the anime), everyone suspected that they would never see any of those six universes ever again, on account of Zeno being able to erase everything entirely.

However, when all the other universes arrive at the arena ready for the big day of the competition, when Universe 9 doesn't show up, it's revealed that the WHOLE Universe 9 had been eliminated by this rogue team, all of whom show up with their God of Destruction, Angel, and Supreme Kai to take Universe 9's place.

They're survivors of Zeno's initial purge of the other six universes, who have come to the tournament for the right to win the wish to bring their lost worlds back- both as a show of strength from their universe and as a matter of principle for not having had a chance to defend themselves.

Their survival is all thanks to their Angel and a couple other members of their team, who survived not only through raw strength and willpower, but also through cunning.

The gimmick behind this team is that- in contrast to Universe 11 whose team is based on the Power Rangers, and Universe 7 being based on the legend of Sun Wukong, this entire universe is based on Japanese folklore, with each member being a yokai from Japanese mythology.

Here are the ten members from left to right and who each of them are:

Kume - A powerful alien psychic with hundreds of eyes growing on his body, based on the Hyakume (One Hundred Eyes)of Japanese folklore. - http://yokai.com/hyakume/

Aya - A young arachnid alien girl based on the Jurogumo (Spider Woman) - http://yokai.com/jorougumo/

Yuki - A beautiful and incredibly tall, pale woman capable of producing ice and turning her body into snow, based on the Yuki Onna (Snow Woman) - http://yokai.com/yukionna/

Shu - The size of an Oozaru, this demon is physically the most powerful member of the team, and is based on the most famous Oni from Japanese mythology, Shuten Doji- http://yokai.com/shutendouji/

Kiyo - An anthropromorphic dragon girl and a descended of the race tasked with guarding the Super Dragon Balls, she is the most capable and all around best fighter of her team, and is based on the dragon girl from Japanese mythology Kiyohime, a woman who has attained ultimate power - http://yokai.com/kiyohime/

Tama - An anthropromorphic fox girl, she is the greatest external ki user and is unmatched in ki manipulation, based on the legendary and most famous kitsune from Japanese myth, Tamamo-no-Mae- http://yokai.com/tamamonomae/

Musashi - A humanoid male with a red face and long nose, he is regarded as the finest bladesman in the multiverse, who can strike with a blade even without being armed without one, and is based on the Tengu of Japanese myth - http://yokai.com/daitengu/

Sabura - The most intelligent member of the team, this crafty raccoon boy is capable of all kinds of magic and illusions, and is based on the Tanuki of Japanese myth, and is named after a character from the Studio Ghibli movie Pom Poko, featuring the Tanuki as the main characters- http://yokai.com/tanuki/

Tora - An anthropromorphic tiger capable of turning into smoke and teleporting, and is immensely powerful in both fighting and magic, based on the Byakko monster - http://yokai.com/byakko/

Umi - A mass of intelligent water that can take any shape, form and is capable of instantaneous regeneration, even out of trace particles in zero atmosphere, and is based on the Umi Bozu - http://yokai.com/umibouzu/

As you can tell, I put a lot of love into my character designs and don't give them their abilities if it wasn't paying respects to their original legends.

The scary part about this particular team is that each of its ten surviving members are able to go toe to toe with Jiren on equal footing, with its three most powerful members Kiyo, Tama and Shu being several times more powerful than Jiren, and these three end up being the main antagonists.

Tell me which one you like best. :)

Forgive my lateness with certain uploads- I have come down with a cold and have barely any strength. Still sick and stuffy.

Man, super is such a huge waste of potential and filled with terrible retcons. A freaking hentai artist, albeit a fan of the franchise is able to have a better plot hook than most of the writers of the show. I like the this premise, one of the previously deleted universes coming back, maybe get some revenge or justice. This feels like something the show should have done.

Ha, you really don't shy away from making your OCs stronger than the canon characters.

TheWriteFiction

Heh. No I don't shy away at all. Especially since at the beginning of DBS the creators introduced God ki and the Gods of Destruction as these indominable forces of awesome mass destruction and invincibility... and then began arbitrarily introducing characters that defy these very concepts about two arcs into the show, what with Frieza training for a couple months to get as strong as a God, Trunks suddenly going from SSJ2 level to matching Goku and Vegeta pound for pound in God mode in the span of a couple weeks, and then having Jiren pop out and say he's stronger than even a God of Destruction... and don't get me started on Moro, ugh. Super has this nasty habit of introducing these brand new concepts that redefine the stakes and power scaling, but then end up beating them down several sagas later (mostly because I think the writers were panicking over how they can get all the other characters popular in their franchise to match them). Well, if we're going that route, then I may as well keep up my end of story telling and flex my own power scaling muscles, except I plan on doing it consistently that doesn't break the story formula I've established and require massive retcons.

Probably Kiyo and Yuki . I'm very curious of the powers and techniques that Kiyo could have. Very interesting.

GamerLegend09

😏 I can see Zangya fawning over these girls already

Additions to Gohan’s harem: Yuki, Kiyo, and Tama.
