Now let's the story seized-stolen begin, yes-yes!

Huzzah something to read when I’m scanning 100 pages of documents and praying to the God-Emperor that the printer actually sends it through Edit: Now that I had some time to read this the Ctan’s words are troubling does he mean dragon or do Taylor’s talking spider-turned robot count as an AI. Where in the galaxy did the Mechanicus find Chrono torpedos.

praise malal! praise antony!

Dale

I find the Word Bearer's response to be highly amusing; especially since he himself noted he underestimated how badly the Horned Rat's antics would undermine him. It's only now, when he really, REALLY couldn't afford problems that he sees the implications for how badly his plans have been corroded. Note, I doubt he'll ever fully understand how deep the rot managed to spread before he gets erased from this galaxy, but that's the trouble with all or nothing gambles, no?

I can't help but feel that Zahndrekh and not Chaos is going to be the true end boss of this campaign. I mean the dude is considered one of the greatest generals in a war that I still can't quite grasp the scale of.

Good answer for the crazy of having a penal world in the Cadia system!

Salute kentaro miura, a brilliant mad genius!

That alpha legionaires final words? How can I hurt him the most? He's a horrible traitor that turned his back on humanity yes, but that was a good death

Mordred

While I enjoyed the chapter so far I have a couple of issues with it. Mainly the Aegis battlecruisers being completely broken, seriously being able to tank the firepower of the Throne without any damage (being shown) is broken beyond belief. Secondly the Titan assault of the Throne, while I'm fine with it them mentioning the amount of guns yet not taking any casualties at all against Necron tech is, jarring. While I have been enjoying parts of it after it being built up so much and with it being better than a World Engine it feels like it's leaning to close to a curb stomp (single relatively minor setback notwithstanding)

I am very concerned how the band of the hawk rogue traders will be treated in this story if we know anything about the manga they hail from. Anthony what horror do you have planned for them?

Anonymous

Guts and the band of the hawk cameo? I like it. I do worry about Griffith though. That said, RIP Kentaro Miura

Lex Kuzela

Oof, Lorgar's gotta be burning right now. And I can't wait to see what else Corax gets up to. The red wire was positively masterful.

Not really. The invasion was a surprise, and void shields (like ion shields) are cannonically of full use against Necrons. Coupled with treacherous/insane/incompetent crypteks and commanders, and for a short frame of time, the titans can get by. As for the Aegis cruisers, it was all of them working together to tank a single shot. For a shield from the heydays of humanity's golden tech-age, that is possible. What I have trouble understanding is psy-tech working in a null field...

Band of the Hawk Cameo YES! I see that you are a fellow Berserk connoisseur. Let's just hope things turn out better for them then they did in Midland, yes?

Vega

In a twist no one sees coming Casca is the one who turns evil.

Antony444

Thank you. Though now, if Cadia survives, they will have to find a new location...

Antony444

Not answering that one, but yes, given their canon fate, I suppose certain bad predictions can be made...

Antony444

Lorgar is burning so hot the Cadians auspexes can track him without trying...just joking.

Antony444

I would argue they can't exactly turn worse...seriously, Berserk is one of the rare universes where w40k is not exactly curbstombing in the horror field...and yes, I'm a connaisseur.

Boris Michenski

Well, well... the things are heating up... I do agree, that Aegis do seems kinda broken, but I imagine it's mostly the shock value of their first use and necrons not even trying to adapt... So in your timeline Muphekta Dynasty already got destroyed... well, on the other hand 5000 years between M35 and M40 is nothing compared to Great Sleep. Honestly, up until no I thought Simut you invented youself. And so Black Crusade is about to get even more troubles... And I suspect Arc Black Crusade will also have only 2 chapter. And then we will get new one, named "Verge of Oblivion" or something like that...

y

Haha. Throne of the Endless Swarm... Another title for the title throne! Taylor must be sick by now of all the titles, honors and epithets she's accumulated over the years. I wonder how long it would take to formally address Taylor by M39. Probably years!

Gabriel Meadow

Antony, we really need to see a reaction section from Lorgar's POV next. Get a sense into his mind, his thinking and how he's handling the fact that, zeal isn't enough, and he forgot the enemies get a vote too.

Confused

Well now glad to see Brukk Brukk still swinging along.

Nicholas

Thanks for the update, great fun! I do think this indicates the need to add a rule to the Evil Overlord list. I will never trust anyone whose name means Mal Foi in any language. Seriously trusting someone who took the name "the Faithless" is just asking to be betrayed!

John W

Amazing, we now have an idea to have a non-corrupted human AI.

Forgottenone

Llandu’gor caused the cyber revolt and keeps driving human tech insane... lovely. It just makes so much sense too. All that was needed was a single halfway decent Necron leader waking up during the golden age of humanity. Most likely protected from scrying till the jerk acted too. The golden age tech of man would actually scare any sane Cryptek. While not as insanely advanced in each field tech as the Necrons or Eldar humanity had combined them together. Well the Agis BC are proving how dangerous that can be. Still not shocked that the battleship Anarchy’s Heart was sworn to the rat. Really Lorgar how can you be surprised? Ugh, Lorgar you should have attack IoM as soon as Solar sent their fleets west to take back the segmentium. Whip up a few warp storms along the main warp lanes to slow down IoM reaction forces. Call it a black raid take on the Cadia fleet and let loose all the rabble warbands that are hiding out in the eye. Unleash destruction on soft targets of 'lesser value' like agi-worlds and civilized worlds that could still produce large amounts of food. On all the soon-to-be starving worlds unleash your dark priest and have them corrupt them from the inside. Now while all this is going on copy the dark angles and yank out all the main temples out of Skavenblight making your new base. Then fling Skavenblight into A. into a star close to or on major warp arteries. B. Agripinaa system C. Cypra Mundi system D. Port Maw with A being the most likely to happen cause let's be honest you need the rats and their master gone yes- no to never friken exist Lorgar. If Malal complains tell it that if it wants to be one of your gods it should man up and take on IoM... with the add note if it cannot live through this Malal is not worth being called a god. Now the real points of this battle plan are to make sure IoM cannot deal with all the smaller problems in the galaxy before the grand armada is complete. Two GET THE RATS OUT! Mainly before all, your base belongs to us happens! Third, to wage war you need money, money, and money and in Chaos currency that is souls, slaves, sacrifices. Fourth this raid has a high chance to drag other Chaos factions out if you play your cards right. Look one-eyed bro space wolves are coming to save the day for IoM want to greet them? Perturabo did you hear Dorn lives? Yea you should send a message to him to remind Dorn that you are alive too. Just so happens X chapter that guards the eye of terror are his sons it just a suggestion. Abaddon I hate you and you hate me however I know you got a million people looking into the future so if any key world of IoM actually leaves themself open you will hit it for me thank you. Fith if you can send planets into the eye of terror what is going to stop us from sending my fleets out if I own a nearby warp storm? Deep deep breaths ok did I just rant and rave a basic battle plan into existence? Just saying Lorgar staring at the threads of fate does not actually help you if you need to fix the problem then and there.

Matt.Silver

Thank you for the update. Great work as usual. Things are getting more and more chaotic (pun intended). However, some clarification on certain parts would be appreciated. Because with how it's written now, it seems to imply Taylor's fleet got into a slugging match with the planet sized monolith and won? An expanded explanation as to how the Aegis battlecruisers managed to endure the constant barrage of countless star-scraper sized guns better than the Monolith's shields endured the fleet's considerably smaller and less numerable guns would be appreciated - and probably deter a lot of angry critics later on. Also, I hope Taylor doesn't get too dependent on those Teleporation jammers. Sure, they'll stop general Necron teleport assaults, but they aren't full proof. Neferten managed to teleport some lynchguards onto Trazyn's ship through 502 separate countermeasures designed to prevent that. Some Crypteks could probably do the same to Taylor's fleet... assuming the Dust-maker is willing to listen to them... It's rather impressive how angry the Dust-maker is getting, actually. Necrons aren't supposed to feel emotions very strongly, so if the Dust-maker is this angry in a metallic body, he'd be having a heart-attack if his body was still flesh and blood. It's kinda like Taylor's making him feel alive again!

Antony444

Ha! As for the Mechainicus resources, don't forget the vaults of Mars are extremely huge, and they have a lot of the 'fun' stuff. The main problem is in general convincing the Tech-Priests to give them to you.

Antony444

One might almost say Arkos warns his enemies not to trust him as a fair warning...

Boris Michenski

I would like to expand on some comments done previously. Yes, having Cybernetic Revolt as a light but vide spread case of Flayed Curse make much sense... wonder if it was Orikane's doing... But yes, it could have been any competent Cryptec... AS for Faitless... I'd say, the name of his battleship should have been a giant tip! By the way, will 'Hearth of Anarchy' be reclaimed by Word Bearers not that Lorgar killed the crew or destroyed? On one hand, a battleship is valuable ressource and it's happening in relativly 'safe zone' inside miasma. On the other hand, it's name... If it's not the last chapter of Black Crusade, wonder if there would be third PoV at the beggining of newt one, and who'll give it... And did I understand it right? Nepherten allied herself with a C'Tan? Or just a shard? It's strange, seeing as she was against such alliance before biotranspherence... On the other hand, war and need make strange bedfellows. And seeing as I can't imagine her entering the Throne to do it, does it mean different shard of same C'Tan still comminicate with each other?

Antony444

The Cybernetic Revolt was not Orikan's doing...though as always he 'predicted' it...and did absolutely nothing to prevent it. The Alpha Legion Battleship won't be reclaimed, no. While it would be a major asset reclaimed, anything the Alpha Legion uses as headquarters is considerably trapped and sabotaged for unwelcome elements.

s22132

The Band of the Hawk, huh? I'm really hoping they don't share the same fate as the original; that would make me very sad. I'm willing to give this version of Griffith the benefit of the doubt for now, but I'll be keeping a close eye on him.

Rufio18

Is the psy tech field making the reaper batteries loose power when they hit it? More please 😇🙏🏻🙏🏻

Antony444

Yeah that's a fate which is horrible even by w40k standards (if it isn't saying something)...and yes I would expect every warned reader to keep two eyes on Griffith.
