(This is a repost of an earlier comment that (I think) got buried, sorry for the bother) What is the role of the British monarchy in the magical world? Monarchy seems to be more active and important in the magical world than the non magical, so why do we not hear about the British monarchs?

It might be a simple fact that the Monarchs of the United Kingdom seem to be muggles, and thus have no real authority by wizards who on the whole look down on them. The Tsar of Russia on the other hand seems to be magically powerful, and he has the Champion of Loki as his second daughter, so even if the governing institute for the muggle size of Russia changed, the magical side kept their powerbase intact.
