This is the unbeta-ed version of Shadowpoint 7-2 The Storm before the Apocalypse. Thanathos and Trevayne will probably have it ready before the new year, but since I'm not close to Internet for certain days next week...well it will be the last chapter published here for 2019.

Note that until I post this chapter on alternate history and fanfiction, everything included in these pages fall under the category heavy spoilers. If someone tries to reveal the surprise early, I will remind you the Inquisition is ever vigilant and always watching.

I have begun a new chapter of the Dance is not Over and I will work on The Odds were never in my favour after that...writing on the Weaver Option non-stop was fun, but I won't neglect the other timelines.

Okay, I think it's all I wanted to say. Custodes, ready. Weaver, ready. Sliscus...not ready but who cares? Praise the God-Emperor, pass the ammunition...and let the galaxy burn.

Thanks for the chapter and have a Happy New Years!

ah so this is the ATL Commorragh Raid

Lex Kuzela

Holy fucking shit! You magnificent goddamn bastard! That was absolutely amazing! I hate that I can't talk about it to anyone on AH, but that ending more than makes up for it. I can't wait for the pest control to begin. AVE IMPERATOR!

Anonymous

This was an absolutely amazing read! Also, so many grand implications! Btw, no fate reveal for deceased Sliscus entourage? Hoped to see entry from their POV :D

Antony444

Yes, though no one is going to include the term 'Raid' in this timeline. More like 'Scouring', 'Apocalypse', 'Extermination' and some...more impressive names.

Antony444

There will be plenty of reveals...in the grand aftermath of the battle. But given that Taylor has ordered her troops to shoot xenos first and ask questions later, you can bet there's not going to be many survivors...

Anonymous

Ahh yes the commoragh "raid". I'm really hoping that when the astartes show up to rescue the forgehammer they are greeted with utter devastation and a massive imperial force performing mop up operations with forgehammer mostly repaired and such. An easy way to meet the salamander chapter I guess. EDIT: the titans and knights that are with her are going to have one of the most revered battle pennants ever. The first titans to ever march in the webway. Those machines are going to be especially holy.

Boris Michenski

Attack of Commoragh... til the end I thought it would be attack of some sattelits-city, other infrastructure objects in Webway, maybe a raid on Cammoragh to cause max destruction possible. But a real invasion? With aim to fully destroy/occupay Dark City - I thought it's impossible, even with Necrons support. Did I overestimate ther power of Drukchary? On the other hand, 15 Cairns? I think I read somewhere, that in Canon Imperium never observed more than 2 at once. I hope there would be a scene on Drukhari's ship when they prepare to fight Imperium... only to see Necrons coming. Bon Année, Bon Sante.

Albino87

Will be interesting to see how much of Commorragh that will be still standing when they leave the area. Since the size of that city is huge. Wondering how many of the prisoner of the Drukhari that will be released in this raid and decide to return the favour to there former hosts. Will not surprise me if the numbers of slaves are bigger than the number of Eldar in the CIty. Happy New Year!

Holy mother of god that was a good chapter. I can’t wait to see how this ‘raid’ is going to end and all the butterflies it causes, because if they manage to wipe out Commorragh then that’s a significant amount of the Eldar gone. Love this chapter and can’t wait for future ones, especially any where we get to see Taylor barter with Tryzan. Just live their interactions in this fic

Well now the way this chapter went took me completely by surprise. The update from the 22 made me think that Taylor had to use the web way to attack different locations sieged by Chaos forces, not attack the Dark City. The amount of loot and potential Primearch the expedition will find there will undoubtedly make Weaver the best known name across the Imperium. However that will pail in comparison to the possibility of finding an artifact or method capable of repairing broken webaway routes, because I can think of a certain web way breach that has been in need of repair for over 6000 years by that point.

Antony444

Mop up certainly not. Utter devastation...absolutely. Commorragh is a 'hard' target, as such requires overwhelmingly amounts of firepower to 'treat'...

Antony444

Good, good (cackles). Everything is proceeding according to the author's plan. Thank you, have a nice new year too!

Antony444

M35 Commorragh is smaller than M41 Commorragh since it hasn't yet amalgated several sub-realms and 'enjoyed' the dictatorial leadership of Vect, but yes it's still huge. And yes, the number of slaves easily outnumber the number of Eldar in the city. Though they are plenty of Eldar slaves too. Happy New Year!

Antony444

Thanks a lot! Well, this is a raid in name only. For the Eldar, it might be qualified as 'total war zone' or something equivalent...

Antony444

Which is why I cut it where I did (evil grin). And yes, there are a lot of reasons why the Emperor would order an invasion of Commorragh despite the prodigious risks such an offensive entails...

Richard Paull

Welp, at least someone remembered my birthday! Thank you Master Scribe :p Enjoy new years.

frank schellingerhout

wel some one is going to have to bad day in the next chapters looking forward to them and seeing missy doing a i told you so when taylor returns home

Mackenzie Buckle

I just realized they have now recovered two Vulkan artifacts

Michael Zalesny

I say again, you absolute glorious bastard!

Anonymous

Wonder what Vect is thinking "the imperials are too early, I only just captured the cruiser"

Antony444

A lot of people are going to have very bad days. The Port of Lost Souls is equipped for many things, but receiving an Imperial fleet with absolutely zero warning is not one of them, and receiving Necron warships...nope, noope (grin). And yes, Missy will be able to tell 'yes, I was right all along'.

Antony444

Thank you. I will try my best to do another epic scene to end Extermination 8-1....

Antony444

Vect: We pass to plan Z immediately. What? There's not a plan Z? Well, there's one now.

Anonymous

Also just curiously but is the planet of Terrathens cannon or something you made up because whenever I look it up nothing come up. Just wondering, been bugging me a little

Forgottenone

Well I think the major play was the abduction(or planned move) of Contessa or at least her removal for this chapter. She should have accepted she was useless without her powers and stayed in a fortress (she is a pawn of big E). Forces of Chaos showing up to defend the port of lost souls would be amusing and long term horrible for the dark pointy ears. Do not think it will happen mind you but a funny thought all the same. O wow they show up during the raid? In that case reinforcements are already on their way. WOW 15 Necron battleships!?!?! If this was any other faction I would feel sorry for them. Chaos does not count as I view dark eldar as part of chaos as they gave birth to s/he bitch. Further more this is happening in a tight area and eldar can't use their best long ranged hit and flee methods. All who played the table top know what I am talking about. If I remember right Necrons weapons don't miss and can multiple targets in this battle field they will bring hellish death itself.

Anonymous

I just realized something. The tank we found. The fellglaive? The obsidian chariot? That's an artifact of Vulcan. Two in the same system.

Kioras

The timing could not be worse for the Drukhari. This is going to be one of those fights where more and more Imperial forces stream in. We have CRAWL and his forces nearby waiting for the message to go, he will do the Emperor's will! The timing is within a few weeks of the Salamanders striking to retrieve the Forgehammer from the city also, along with the troops on that ship being Rowdy as only Space Marines could be. The Salamander Assault killed 1/2 of the nobility in there soon to be timed assault and they only invaded with a Battle Barge and a few strike cruisers. Weaver has a much heavier force this time

Anonymous

I really like that there is a counter down the bottom of how many dark eldar are still alive

Antony444

Yes, indeed. Well it would be more appropriate to say the ship transporting ALL the artefacts was there at some point...

Antony444

And the Eldar aren't used to fight Necrons anymore. Whereas for the Necrons, well they were used to fight the true Aeldari, the children of the Old Ones, and for them it's basically yesterday...

Anonymous

are we going to have news about a white scars person?

Antony444

Yes, you will have...(cackles, because the question is sufficiently vague to get away with this answer)

Mackenzie Buckle

will the next chapter have a POV from the Salamanders on the forgehammer?

Boris Michenski

Salamander's Vulkan's Wrath is probably already in route to rescue Forgehammer... wonder if another sip would be send to respond on Weaver's calls about Relic(s)? In fact, how far is Desaderian Gulf from Pavia? According to wiki, Forgehammer held siege for 16 days before festivity truly begun... Wonder how it will play here... "Thanks, brothers, but we were already rescured..." And there would be two successors of Ultramarines, Aeonid Thiel won't be alone anymore. There is also question of all slaves in Cammoragh... How would Imperials (and Necrons) treat all the xenos? For exemple Exodites Eldars... well, Necrons will just kill, but in the end, they are the closest Eldars to be concidered civilian/non hostile.

Antony444

Answering a few of these questions would be give way, way too many spoilers for the next chapter...

Anonymous

What will weaver do with the necron item in the asteroid ?

Anonymous

Damn it man, I’m so excited and impatient for 7-3, otherwise thanks for the amazing reads of 2019, happy New Years now, and I look forward to another year of your writing!

Anonymous

I hope the countless slaves in Commorragh rise up and assist in their liberation!

Anonymous

what will become of the Space Hulk ? it will be a huge starfort for the marine.

Antony444

Trade it to the Necrons, of course...that it can't be intended for its primary pupose doesn't mean it can't be negotiated for something else...

Antony444

Oh, there's not a lack of will from the slaves...just a lack of means...until now.

Antony444

Unlikely. The Space Hulk after this chapter is crippled and was never exactly a stable mass of metal, and what Sliscus has done has not helped things. It is far more probable the Mechanicus will try to scavenge the human hulls inside, and study/loot the rest...

Kioras

Taylor has learned an important lesson. The more she prepares carefully, the larger the crushing victory can be. The only problem is that when you succeed at a hard task the reward is a much harder task and more work. Pavia in a straight fight for those fleets should have left a large portion of the fleet dead and in dry docks for years afterwards. Instead they get the type of crushing victory that will end up being used as an example for centuries to come. The loot gotten alone would have paid for the action. The 37 trillion Throne Gelts, 3 planets in prize money, the massive adamantium cargo all the various technology samples the Mechanius will spend years going through and searching the system for. The 7 million tons of ligeia, the Salamander artifacts also. Oh yeah, 17,000 pure untainted gene-seed, enough for a major wave of foundings. The map leading to a largely unexplored section of space that they might have hope to recover more STC fragments or other examples. The Emperor basically said "Damn nice job Weaver but perhaps that small Crusade that wrapped up would like to have a second target." This is not even counting the pure chaos that the invasion will be since the Salamanders will end up being involved, no doubt Taylor will see using the massive amounts of human slaves who want either freedom or vengeance. 500 Space Marines with a Battle Barge and two dozen Strike cruisers caused massive havok with the first invasion. This will be a much large conventional Invasion with a massive Capital ship bombardment no doubt targeting the docks along with heavy fighter escort.

Antony444

Yes...don't forget though that a lot of the operation's foundations for success is unlikely to repeat itself in the future. Potential targets will try not to stay 5 years immobile and not patrol the outer system if they know what is good for them...
