To clarify the ending a lil, Gremmy imagined himself as stronger than Kenpachi but the body he imagined couldn't keep up with that level of power, so his "body" fell apart and couldn't contain his brain anymore. Or you can believe that Gremmy at this point was so scared of Kenpachi that his mental idea of Kenpachi couldn't actually exist when he tried to copy it, which I think was Kenpachi's interpretation right before the credits rolled.
